Y ~ ~ '~' ~ ~~ t' {~ ~ i ~`., ORDINANCE NO. ~~ ~ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CERTAIN FIRE DEPARTMENT POSITION PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE NO. 8692, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 8734, ORDINANCE NO. 8773, AND ORDINANCE NO. 8780, BY INCREASING THE NUMBER OF CAPTAINS THEREIN PROVIDED FROM SEVENTY-FIVE TO EIGHTY-ONE, AND BY DECREASING THE NUMBER OF FIRE FIGHTER POSITIONS FROM THREE HUNDRED ELEVEN AND 42/100 TO THREE HUNDRED FIVE AND 42/100, SUCH CHANGES NOT AE'FECTTNG THE APPROPRIATION OF `SAID ORDINANCE NO. 8692; PROVIDING A S.EVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL ORDI- NANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS SECTION 1. That the positions provided for the Fire Department for fiscal year 1982-83 in Ordinance No. 8692, as amended by Ordinance No. 8734, Ordinance No. 8773, and Ordinance No. 8780, and in the Budget of the City Manager, be amended with regard only to Captain and Fire Fighter positions, to provide for eighty-one (81) rather than seventy-five (75) Captains and three hundred five and 42/100 (305-42/100) rather than three hundred eleven and 42/100 (311-42/100) Fire Fighter positions, without, however, changing the overall appropriations of the Fire Department contained in said Ordinance and Budget. SECTION 2. That if any section, part of a section or provision of any sec- tion of this ordinance shall be held to be void, ineffective or un- constitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the holding of such section, part of a section or provision of any section to be void, ineffective or unconstitutional for any cause whatsoever shall in no way affect the validity of the remaining sections and provi- sions of the ordinance, which shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 8692, and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in di- r .,. :~ } Mc > ~.. rect conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instances said conflicting provisions are hereby expressly J repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage as provided by law, and it is so ordained. The adopted manpower plan provided for upgrading f fifteen officers to the rank of°'Captain, fourteen to Lieutenant, six to Engineer, with only three additional positions. The manpower plan involved realignment of personnel and staffing for new apparatus as it was delivered and the opening of three new stations. These changes in staffing represent the final phase of the plan for existing stations. Additional staffing as related to this manpower plan will be presented in conjunction with council approval to open new stations.
