ORDINANCE APPROVING AND ADOPTING ESTIMATES OF THE COSTS OF IMPROVELIENTS AND OF A110UNTS TO BE ASSESSED FOR IMPROV :BENTS ON PORTIONS OF CROCKETT STREET, NORWOOD STREET, BLEDSOE STREET, CURRIE STREET AND MORTON STREET, IN VAN ZANDT PARK ADDITION, IN THE_ CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, FIXING TIIilE AND PLACE FOR HEARING TO THE OWNERS OF ABUTTING PROPERTY AND TO ALL OTHERS INTERESTED, AND DIRECTING THE CITY SECRETARY TO GIVE NOTICE. WHEREAS, the Cit;; Council has heretofore ordered that the hereinbelow mentioned portions of streets be improved by raising, grading and filling same, constructing concrete curbs and gutters on proper grade and line, and by paving with permanent type pavement, together with incidentals and appurtenances; and contract for the makiiV and constructing of such improvements was entered into iTrith General Construction Company on the 27th day of June, 194'7, and, uVHEIIEAS, in accordance with proceedings of the City, the City Council has caused the City EnSineer to prepare and file estimates of the cost of such improvements and estimates of the amounts per front foot proposed to be assessed against abutting property and the owners thereof, and such estimates have been examined, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: I. That such estimates relating to said portions of streets be, and they are, adopted and approved. II. That it is hereby found and determined that the cost of improvements on each portion of street, with the amount or amounts per front foot proposed to be assessed for such improvements against the abutting property and the owners thereof, are as follows, to wit: On CROCKETT STREET, from the easterly line of University Drive to the westerly line of Norwood Street, known and designated as Unit No. 1: the estimated cost of the improvements is 9.9085.60 ; the estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against abutting property and the owners thereof for curb and gutter is Y1..58; the estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against abutting property and the owners thereof for improvements exclusive of curb and gutter is $6.42; total estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against abutting property and the owners thereof is $6.00. On NORWOOD STREET, from the northerly line of West Lancaster Avenue to the southerly line of West Seventh Street, known and designated as Unit No. 2: the estimated cost of the improvements is $22, 768000 ; the estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against abutting property and the owners thereof for curb and gutter is '1.58; the estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against -» 1 -- abutting property and the owners thereof for improvements exclusive of curb and gutter is $6.42• total estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against, property and the owners thereof is $8.00. On BLEDSOE STREET, from the easterly line of Norwood Street to the westerly line of Foch Street, known and designated as Unit No. 3: the estimated cost of the improvements is $22s500.00 ; the estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against abutting property and the owners thereof for curb and gutter is $1.58; the estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against abutting property and the owners thereof for improvements exclusive of curb and gutter is $6.42; total estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against abutting property and the owners thereof is $8.00. On CURRIE STREET, from the northerly line of West Lancaster Avenue to the southerly line of Bledsoe Street, known and designated as Unit No. 4; the estimated cost of the improvements is $ 6..310.00 ; the estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against abutting property and the owners thereof for curb and gutter is $1.58; the estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against abutting property and the owners thereof for improvements exclusive of curb and gutter is $6.42; total estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against abutting property and the owners thereof is $8.00. On MORTON STREET, from the easterly line of Currie Street to the westerly line of Foch Street, known and designated as Unit No. 5: the estimated cost of the improvements is $10,250.00 ; the estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against abutting property and the owners thereof for curb and gutter is $1.58; the estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against abutting property and the owners thereof for improvements exclusive of curb and gutter is $6.42; total estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against abutting property and the owners thereof is $8.00. III. That a hearing be given and held by and before the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, to all owning or claiming any property abutting upon said portions of streets, and to all others owning or claiming any interest in any such property. Such hearing shall be given and held on the 3rd day of Sept , 1947, at 9:3o Ali o' clock, g. M., in the Council Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and the City Secretary is hereby directed to give notice of the time and place of such hearing and of other matters and facts in accordance with the terms and provisions of the Act passed at the First Called Session of the Fortieth Legislature of the State of Texas, known as Chapter 106 of the Acts of said Session, which Act has been adopted as an amendment to and made a part of the Charter of the City of Fort Worth. Such notice shall be by advertisement inserted at least three times in a newspaper published in the City of Fort Worth, Texas, the first publication to be made at least ten (10) days before the date of said hearing and said notice shall comply with and be in accordance with the terms and provisions of said Act.
