HomeMy WebLinkAbout2016/06/28-Minutes-City Council-Executive Session CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING CLOSED EXECUTIVE SESSION JUNE 28, 2016 After proper notice given pursuant to the Texas Open Meetings Act, Mayor Price adjourned the Pre-Council meeting of the Fort Worth City Council at 5:04 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, to convene into the Special City Council Meeting for the closed Executive Session in the Pre- Council Chamber of the Fort Worth Municipal Building. Present: Mayor Betsy Price Council Member W.B. "Zim" Zimmerman, District 3 Council Member Cary Moon, District 4 Council Member Dennis Shingleton, District 7 Council Member Kelly Allen Gray, District 8 Council Member Ann Zadeh, District 9 Absent: Mayor Pro tem Salvador Espino, District 2 Council Member Gyna Bivens, District 5 Council Member Jungus Jordan, District 6 Staff Present: David Cooke, City Manager Sarah Fullenwider, City Attorney Gerald Pruitt, Deputy City Attorney Mary J. Kayser, City Secretary Fernando Costa, Assistant City Manager Jay Chapa, Assistant City Manager Susan Alanis, Assistant City Manager Aaron Bovos, Chief Financial Officer Melinda Ramos, Law Richard Zavala, Parks and Recreation Tyler Wallach, Law Maleshia Farmer, Law Peter Elliot, TPW Doug Wiersig, TPW Richard McCracken, Law Aubrey Thagard, Neighborhood Services Randle Harwood, Planning and Development Denis McIlroy, Law LeAnn Guzman, Law Stephen Cooke Property Management With a quorum of the City Council Members present, the Fort Worth City Council convened into closed Executive Session at 5:08 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, in the Pre-Council Chamber of the Fort Worth Municipal Building to discuss matters pertaining to the following: CITY OF FORT WORTH,TEXAS SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING JUNE 28,2016 PAGE 2 of 2 1. Seek the advice of its attorneys concerning the following pending or contemplated litigation or other matters that are exempt from public disclosure under Article X, Section 9 of the Texas State Bar Rules and as authorized by Section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code: a. Legal issues concerning debt issuance for Public Improvement Districts; b. Legal issues concerning management agreement for community centers; and c. Legal issues concerning any item listed on today's City Council meeting agendas; 2. Deliberate the purchase, sale, lease or value of real property in accordance with Section 551.072 of the Texas Government Code. Deliberation in an open meeting would have a detrimental effect on the position of the City in negotiations with a third party; and 3. Deliberate concerning economic development negotiations as authorized by Section 551.087 of the Texas Government Code; and 4. Deliberate the deployment, or specific occasions for implementation, of security personnel or devices, in accordance with Section 551.076 of the Texas Government Code; and \ The Council recessed form Executive Session form 5:39 pm to 5:45 pm. There was no formal action taken by the City Council on the items discussed during the Executive Session and with no further business to be conducted, Mayor Price adjourned the meeting at 6:31 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2016.
