SUBJECT: AGREEMENT WITH TEXAS SOCIETY TO PREVENT BLINDNESS
Request your assistance in executing the five (5) attached agreements with the Texas Society to
Prevent Blindness. As part of our overall marketing and promotions, the Golf Division has
participated in this program for the past nine (9) years.
The Texas Society to Prevent Blindness is in the process of issuing new golf privilege cards,
effective January 1, 2001 through December 31, 2001. The agreement allows us to participate
in the program for the next three (3) years. The Card is purchased from the Society and when
the golfer presents the card at one of the five (5) identified golf courses, he/she is allowed to
play one (1) free round of golf, with a full rental on an electric golf cart. The card may be
used only on weekdays, during restricted times of low utilization (weekends and holidays are
excluded).
The municipal courses would benefit from the sale of refreshments, merchandise, cart rentals
and publicity from media announcements. The Department of Law has determined that no
M&C is required to execute this agreement.
Once completed, please contact Jean Coleman, Senior Administrative Assistant/Golf at
extension 5748, to pick up the executed agreement. Should you have any additional questions,
please let me know.
