ORDINANCE NO. $S !~
AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE 3900
BLOCK OF OLD BENBROOK ROAD, FROM KERMIT AVENUE NORTHWARD
TO HIGHWAY 377; AND THE NORTHERNMOST SIXTEEN FEET OF THE
7300 BLOCK OF KERMIT AVENUE, FROM OLD BENBROOK ROAD EAST-
WARD TO SOUTHWEST BOULEVARD; PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF
FEE IN SAID LANDS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
THAT the following be and the same are vacated, abandoned and
permanently closed as public street rights-of-way:
A. The 3900 block of Old Benbrook Road, a width of fifty
feet (50'), from Kermit Avenue northward three hun-
dred ninety feet (390') to Highway 377; and
B. A sixteen foot (16') wide portion of the 7300 block
of Kermit Avenue, being the northernmost sixteen feet
(16') of said block adjacent to the southernmost
property line of Bloclc B, Ridglea West Addition, and
extending from Old Benbrook Road eastward to
Southwest Boulevard.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the lands in the above described vacated public
street rights-of-way is hereby released and shall revert to the
adjacent owners as provided by law, SAVE AND EXCEPT that easements
are retained for any and all existing and prospective utilities.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so or-
dained.

1) The 3900 block of Old Benbrook Road, a width of 50', from Kermit Avenue
northward 390' to Highway 377, and,
F F F Corporation, with the written consent of all abutting. property owners, has
requested that the City vacate the following
2) A 16' portion of the 7300 block of Kermit Avenue, from Old Benbrook Road
eastward, parallel, co-linear and 16' south of the southernmost property line
of Block B, Ridglea West Addition, to Southwest Boulevard, as shown on the
attached map,
The subject street rights-of-way, acquired by dedication, are open on the ground,
improved and contain water, sewer, gas, telephone, and eletric utility facilities
The subject vacation requests are made in order to replat the vacated rights-of-
way with adjacent property, to expand the building area and provide more usable
yard space.
Reviewing City departments and private utility companies have raised no objections
to this request provided the vacated rights-of-way are replatted with adjacent
property and retained as utility easements for the existing utility facilities
A satisfactory replat, dedicating and retaining the necessary easements, has been
submitted.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed these requests and recommends that the
subject street rights-of-way be vacated as requested,
Recommendation
It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating the 3900 block of Old
Benbrook Road and the 16' portion of the 7300 block of Kermit Avenue, as
recommended by the City Plan Commission
