An Ordinance amending Sections 851,854 and 85.6 , Chapter One
Title Seven of the revised Ordinances as codified by Wm. D. Williams
and T. J. Powell, and adding thereto Section 865 A. and fixing water
rates for consumers within and without the corporate lit-lits of the
City of "ort Worth and , repealing ordinances in conflict t•herewith, etc .
Sec . 1. That Sections 851, 854 and 856 Chapter 1. Title 7, of
the revised ordinances of the city of Fort Ylorth, as codified by Vdti'i. D.
Williams and T. ?. Powell be so amended as to read as follows :
Section 851. All water furnished by the Fort Worth City Water
Torks to its consumers shall be measured by meters.
Meters read on or about the first of every month and the con-
sumer notified in writing, or otherwise, of the amount due from him,
stating in said notice that unless the amount due by him shall be paid
by the 20th, of the succeeding month in which the water was used if
due by a consumer paying by the month, or the 20th, of the first
month of the regular quarters of the year from consumers paying the
minumum rate the water will be turned off and shall not be turned on
again until such time .as the amount due is paid, including the time it
was cut off and one dollar additional for turning on again.
Sec. 854 . The following shall be the rates charged by the City
.for grater furnished to consumers within the corporate limits of the
City of Fort Worth, to-wit :
All water furnished to consumers shall be paid for at the
rate of 3ncents per thousand gallons.
Consumers shall pay rent for water meters as follows:
All water meters up to and including 1" in size9163 .00
All water meters 1. 1/4" to 2" inclusive, " " $6 .00
Said meter rent shall be payable quarterly in advance by those pay-
ing the minimum rate, and monthly by those paying the monthly rate.
All services unless requiring a larger meter than 1 inch, shall be _
charged for at the rate of 3.45 per quarter and consumer al.loti°gyred
the use of 3000 gallons of water per month. All watef used in excess
of the 3000 gallons per month shall be paid for at the rates set out
above, to-wit : 30 cents per thousand gallons. This rate of $3 .45 in-

eludes the rent of the meter up to and including one inch.
Consumers requiring meters larger than one inch and not exceed-
ing two inches in size shall be charged for at the rate of $4 .20 per
quarter and shall be allowed the use of 3000 gallons per month, and
those using more than the 3000 gallons of water per month shall pay
for the game Tat the rate set out above.. This rate of $4 .20 includes the
rent of the meter up to and including two inches in size .
Consumers requiring larger meters than two inches shall be re-
quired to furnish their own meter and keep same in repair and shall be
charged for a minimum amount of water of 3000 gallons at the regular
rate as set out above, to-wit : 30 cents per thousand gallons . In case
a consumer, owning his own meter, fails or refuses to have his meter
repaired when notified so to do, the water department shall repair the
same and charge cost of same to the consumer and shall add it to his
water bill and the same rules applying to amounts due on water shall
apply to these repair bills.
When a consumer does not use theamount of water allowed him
by the minimum rate ` �� :_=lsayig zn any month he shall be allowed
credit for it on the succeeding months in the same quarter.
A deposit shall be required from those consumers whose con-
sumption of water is greater than would be covered by the miimum rate
of an amount which will, in the judgment of ' the water department, be
sufficient to insure the water works against loss on account of a con-
sumer failing to pay his monthly bills.
Sec . 856 . Water bills, for those not paying the minimum
rate will be due and payable on the first day of each and every month,
and for those paying the minimum rates they shall become due .,.and pay-
able on the first day of Tanur` April, July and October of each

Those paying the minimum rate shall pay by the twentieth eO

pay for any amounts due for excess of water used over the allowance for
any month ,and those paying b7--thL- monthYlshall pay any amount due by

them, by the twentieth of the uc rdi..g�month in which the water was
used�..and failing to do so shall be cut o and the water service shall
not be turned on again until the amount due shall be paid. One dollar
additional shall be collected for turning on the water again.
Sec . 856 A. The following shall be the rates charged by the
city for water furnished to consumers without the corporate limits of
the city of Tort Worth, to-wit : All water furnished to consumers without
the corporate limits of the city of Fort Worth shall be paid f6r at.
the rate of 50 cents per one thousand gallons. All service without the
corporate limits Iunless requiring a larger ATeter than 1 inchIshall be
charged for at the rate of �,4-.- b per qua:•ter and consumers allowed the
use of 3000 gallons of water per month. All water used in excess of the
3000 gallons per month shall be paid for at the rate of 50 cents per
one thousand gallons. This rate of $4-r4& includes the rent of meter up
to and including 1 inch meter. Consumers without the corporate limits
of the city requiring meter larger than 1 incht.and not exceeding 2 inche
in size ,shall be charged per quarter and shall be allowed the use
of 3000 gallons per month and those using more than the 3000 gallons
of water per month shall pay for the excess a'. the rate of 50 cents
per one thousand gallons . This rate of includes the rent of the
meter up to and including 2 inches in size. Consumers without the cor-
porate limits requiring larger meter than 2 inch shall be required to
furnish their own meter, and keep the same in repair and shall be charged
for water used at the rate of 50 cents per one thousand gallons. ,but in
any` event shall pay Vis- _ i = € -Q9 per quarter .

l?othing in this Section or any other Section of this ordinance
or any other ordinance of the city shall be construed to compel the city
of "ort North to furnish water to consumers beyond the corporate limits
of the city of Tort Worth and the city reserves the right at all times
to cease to furnish water to such consumers where it may see fit to do
so and es.pec_i;aL4 reserves the right to at any time cut off the water
of any consumer beyond the city limits who violatesany of the regulat-
ions of the city with reference to the use of water or does any act with

reference to water or water works which would be violation of the or-
dinances of the city if said consumer resided within or said act was
done within the corporate limits of the city of Tort Worth.
Sec . 2. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force

from and after its passage and publication, a•nd: the expiration of time
as required by law, and all ordinances or parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith shall be and the same are ?._,z;reby repealed.
