AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE 2800
BLOCK OF MARGARET STREET, A PUBLIC STREET LOCATED IN THE
BROOKLYN HEIGHTS ADDITION; PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE
IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERE-
WITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
THAT the 2800 block of Margaret Street, a sixty-foot (60') wide
public right-of-way extending from the north right-of-way line of
Locke Avenue north one hundred twenty feet (120') to the northern
boundary lines of Lot 1, Block 15, and Lot 8, Block 16, of the
Brooklyn Heights Addition, be and the same is vacated, abandoned and
permanently closed as a public street right-of-way.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land in the above described vacated street
right-of-way is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent
owner as provided by law, SAVE AND EXCEPT that easements are re-
tained for any and all existing utilities, including that certain
ten-foot (10') wide north/south drainage and utility easement whose
centerline lies 42.7 feet from the east boundary line of Lot 1,
Block 15, Brooklyn Heights Addition.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so or-
dained.

`GS~I.G. Payte, owner of all abutting property, has requested that the City vacate
the 2800 block of Margaret Street a width of 60' from the north right-of-way
line of Locke Avenue north 120' to the northeast corner of Lot 1, Block 15, and
the northwest corner of Lot 8, Block 16, Brooklyn Heights Addition, as shown
on the_at.tached map.
- The subject street right-of-way, acquired by dedication, is open on the ground,
improved, in use, and contains telephone, electric, and street light utility
facilities. The subject vacation request is made in order to replat the vacated
right-of-way with adjoining property, expanding the building area and providing
more usable yard space.
Reviewing City departments and private utility companies have raised no objections
to this request, provided the vacated right-of-way is replatted with adjacent
property and satisfactory utility easements are dedicated/retained for the
existing utility facilities. A satisfactory replat, dedicating/retaining the
appropriate and necessary utility easements has been submitted.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends that the sub-
ject street right-of-way be vacated as requested
Recommendation
It is recommended that an Ordinance be adopted vacating the 2800 block of
Margaret Street as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
