ORDINANCE NO. --~~~, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CERTAIN POLICE DEPARTMENT POSITION PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE NO. 8691, AS AMENDED BY ORDI- NANCE NO. 8779 AND ORDINANCE NO. 8839, BY INCREASING THE NUMBER OF OFFICER, SERGEANT AND CORPORAL POSITIONS; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES; PROVID- ING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR THE ENGROSSMENT AND ENROLLING OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND NAMING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the positions provided for the Police Department for fiscal year 1982-83 in Ordinance No. 8691, as amended by Ordinance No. 8779 and Ordinance No. 8839, and in the Budget of the City Manager, be amended only with regard to Officer positions, to provide for Five Hundred Twenty-Five (525) rather than the Five Hundred Twenty-Three (523) Officer positions, to provide for Eighty-Eight (88) rather than Eighty-Seven (87) Sergeant positions, and to provide, for One Hundred Forty-One (141) rather than One Hundred Forty (140) Corporal positions, such new positions to be funded until July 31, 1983, with grant moneys which have been received from the State of Texas Governor's Office Criminal Justice Division. SECTION 2. That all of the declarations and findings contained in the pre- amble of this ordinance are made a part hereof and shall be fully effective as part of the ordained subject matter of this ordinance. SECTION 3. That, if any section, part of a section or provision of any section of this ordinance shall be held to be void, ineffective or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the hold°ing of such section, part of a section or provision of any section to be void, ineffective or unconstitutional for any cause whatsoever shall in no way affect the validity of the remaining sections and provi- sions of the ordinance, which shall remain in full force and effect. ~:., r_ -. SECTION 4. That the City Secretary of the City of Fort Worth is hereby directed to engross and enroll this ordinance by copying the caption in the minutes of the City Council and by filing the ordinance in the ordinance records of the City. SECTION 5. That this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect from and aftor the date of its passage as provided by law, and it is so ordained.
