Submittal of Plans
Dear Mr. Ehia:
As you are aware, there is a conflict with an existing traffic signal pole and box at the
northeast corner of Pine Street and Lancaster Avenue. The existing traffic box will be in
the proposed pavement. The traffic signal pole will be only two feet from the face of
curb after Pine Street has been improved. According to Mr. Mark Mathis, PE, Traffic
Engineer for the City of Fort Worth's Traffic Engineering Department, the traffic signal
poles should be five feet from the face of curb. We have meet with Mr. Mathis to discuss
the conflicts. Attached, please find a copy of the Meeting Minutes. Mr. Mathis said that
both the traffic signal box and poles needs to be relocated. Mr. Mathis indicated that he
could not spare the staff to design or construct the relocation.
The relocation will require laying new conduit across Pine Street, installing a new traffic
control box and drilling a new street light pole foundation. Mr. Mathis requested that the
existing pole, mast arm and illuminare assembly be relocated to the new foundation. We
can prepare the relocation plans if your staff desires. Since this is not included in our
Scope of Services, this would require a change order. We have prepared a spreadsheet
itemizing the costs associated with this task. We estimate the costs of preparing these
plans to be $3,323. We have also included an Opinion of Probable Cost Estimate for
Traffic Signal Box and Pole Relocations.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Daniel Flores or myself at
820-0010.
Thank you. 0lV,cc RECORD
