Management Performance Incentive Pay Agreement
BE IT HEREBY KNOWN:
The following agreement is entered into between the City of Fort Worth d/b/a "Golf
Division" and Mr. William J. Butterfield, in his capacity as "Golf Professional" at Pecan
Valley Golf Course.
The purpose of this agreement is to set forth the terms and conditions by which the Golf
Professional at the above mentioned golf course may receive compensation in the form of
a management performance incentive pay in addition to the Golf Professional's base
salary. The management incentive pay shall come from funds received from the
merchandise sales at the above mentioned golf course.
The Golf Professional's performance shall be evaluated annually each fiscal year. On a
performance evaluation of level 4 or higher, the manager shall be entitled to receive, in
addition to his current base salary, the management incentive pay. On a performance
evaluation of level 3 or lower, the Golf Professional shall not receive any management
incentive pay. The management incentive pay shall be calculated based on the net profit
from sales of merchandise only. The amount of incentive pay shall equal ten percent
(10%) of the net profit from up to $100,000 of gross sales, and then fifteen percent (15%)
of the net profit from gross sales in excess $100,000 during the period coinciding with the
period of evaluation.
Subject to the conditions set forth herein, the Golf Division shall pay the Golf
Professional once annually, an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the annual net profit
up to $100,000 of gross merchandise sales, and fifteen percent(15%) of the annual net
profit from gross merchandise sales in excess of$100,000.
"Gross profit" shall be defined as gross sales less the cost of goods sold. The gross sales
figure shall be calculated as follows:
"Gross sales" shall mean the sum total of gross sales in the golf shop's point of sale
system during the evaluation period, less refunds, voided sales, sales tax, returned checks
and unpaid accounts. Net profit shall be defined as gross profit less 20% administration
costs. The Director of Parks and Community Services or his designee, shall determine
the net profit figure in all cases, including a case of data corruption or loss, and that
figure shall be considered final once decided.

This agreement may be canceled by the City upon providing thirty (30) days notice to
that effect to the Golf Professional. This agreement shall also be considered to be
contemporaneously canceled if the Golf Professional otherwise ceases to be employed by
the City of Fort Worth due to employment termination or resignation. No incentive pay
will be made if the Golf Professional does not complete the full fiscal year. The Golf
Professional must be employed as of October 1 in order to receive incentive pay for the
previous year.
This agreement shall be in effect beginning on June 3, 2000, and continue in effect until
September 30, 2000 (fiscal year), and each year thereafter, unless otherwise canceled or
modified by agreement or as set forth above.
This contract shall be construed according to the laws of the State of Texas and venue of
any suit or cause of action under this contract shall lie exclusively in Tarrant County,
Texas.
