ORDINANCE NO. U
AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING AND EXTIN-
GUISHING CERTAIN PORTIONS OF PUBLIC STREETS, PUBLIC OPEN
SPACE EASEMENTS AND UTILITY EASEMENTS IN TRACTS, I FLORES
SURVEY, AND BLOCKS 58, 59 AND 60 OF CANDLERIDGE ADDITION;
PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LANDS; REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
THAT the following be and the same are vacated, abandoned and
permanently closed and extinguished as public street rights-of-way,
public open space easements and utility easements, respectively:
A The 4600 block of Shadow Lawn Drive, a width of fifty
feet (50') from Hulen Street west ninety feet (90')
to the east property line of Tract 5, I Flores
Survey ;
B. The 4600 block of Freshmeadows Drive, a width of
fifty feet (50' ) from Hulen Street west one hundred
feet (100') to the east property line of Tract 5,
I Flores Survey;
C. The 4600 block of Rocky Glen Road, a width of fifty
feet (50') from Hulen Street west ninety-five feet
(95') to the east property line of Tract 5, I. Flores
Survey;
D. The twenty foot by twenty foot (20' x 20') public
open space easements located in the Candleridge
Addition in the following locations: in the northeast
corner of Lot 1, Block 58; in the northeast corner of
Lot 1, Block 59; in the southeast corner of Lot 2,
Block 59; in the northeast corner of Lot 1, Block 60;
and in the southeast corner of Lot 2, Block 60;
E. The five foot (5') wide utility easements located in
the Candleridge Addition in the following locations:
in Lot 1, Block 58; Lots 1 and 2, Block 59, and
Lots 1 and 2, Block 60.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the lands in the above described vacated public
street rights-of-way, public open space easements and utility ease-
ments is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owners as
provided by law, SAVE AND EXCEPT that easements are retained for any
and all existing utilities, including the existing drainage utility

Drive .
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so or-
dained.

U.S.C. J.V., owner of all abutting property, has requested that the City vacate the
following^ 1) the 4600 Block of Shadow Lawn Drive, a width of 50', from Hulen
Street~wesst 90' to the east property line of Tract 5, I Flores Survey, 2) the 4600
Block of .Freshmeadows Drive, a width of 50', from Hulen Street west 100' to the
east property line of Tract 5, I Flores Survey, 3) the 4600 Block of Rocky Glen
Road, a width of 50', from Hu1en Street west 95' to the east property line of Tract
5, T Flores Survey; 4) the 20' x 20' Public Open Space Easements in Block 58, Lot
1 (northeast corner); Block 59, Lots 1 & 2 (northeast and southeast corners); and
Block 60, -Lots 1 & 2 (northeast and southeast corners), and 5) the 5' wide utility
easements 'in Block 58, Lot 1, Block 59, Lots i & 2, and Block 60, Lots 1 & 2. All
of the subject street rights-of-way, public open space and utility easements are
shown on the attached map.
The subject street rights-of-way and easements were acquired by dedication. The
subject streets are open on the ground and improved. Freshmeadows Drive has two
storm stain inlets and a 24" (R.C.C.P.) Reinforced Culvert Concrete Pipe. The
other two street rights-of-way and the public open space and utility easements
contain no utility facilities. The subject vacation request is made in order to
replat the vacated rights-of-way with abutting property to expand the building
area and provide more usable yard space.
Reviewing City departments and private utility companies have raised no objections
to this request subject to the replatting of the vacated rights-of-way and ease-
ments with abutting property and the dedication/retention of drainage easements
for the existing drainage utility facilities in Freshmeadows Drive. A replat
has not been submitted. The applicant has requested that the City Council waive
the replatting requirement and vacate the subject street and easement rights-of-
way as requested.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends that the subject
street and easement rights-of-way be vacated subject to the replatting of the
vacated rights-of-way with abutting property and the dedication/retention of the
necessary drainage easements
Recommendation
It is recommended that an Ordinance be adopted vacating the 4600 Blocks of Shadow
Lawn Drive, Freshmeadow Drive, Rocky Glen Road, the 20' x 2~'P~~i~./~ . ~~ n Space
Easements and 5' wide utility easement in Blocks 58, 59 a~Q ~ ge Addi-
