AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE 1300
BLOCK OF OAK GROVE AVENUE, A 42.67 FOOT WIDE PUBLIC STREET
RIGHT-OF-WAY, FROM WEST MAGNOLIA AVENUE SOUTH 143 FEET TO
THE NORTH PROPERTY LINE OF LOT 1-R, BLOCK Q-R, ROSEDALE
ADDITION; VACATING ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE TWELVE-FOOT
WIDE EAST/WEST ALLEY ADJACENT TO LOT 1-R, BLOCK Q-R,
ROSEDALE ADDITION, AND LOTS 7-12, BLOCK 1, RYAN AND BERGIN
ADDITION, FROM GALVESTON AVENUE EAST TO OAK GROVE AVENUE;
PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LANDS; REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
THAT the following be and the same are vacated, abandoned and
permanently closed as public: street and alley rights-of-way, respec-
tively:
A. The 1300 block of Oak Grove Avenue, a width of 42.67
feet, from West Magnolia Avenue south 143 feet to the
north property line of Lot 1-R, Block Q-R, Rosedale
Addition; and
B. The 12-foot wide east/west alley adjacent to Lot 1-R,
Block Q-R, Rosedale Addition, and Lots 7-12, Block 1,
Ryan and Bergin Addition, from Galveston Avenue east
to Oak Grove Avernze;
both the aforesaid public street right-of-way and the
aforesaid alley right-of-way being more particularly de-
scribed by metes and bounds in Exhibit "A", attached here-
to and incorporated herein.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the lands in the above described vacated public
street and alley rights-of-way is hereby released and shall revert
to the adjacent owners as provided by law, SAVE AND EXCEPT that
easements are retained for any and all existing and prospective
utilities.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.

dained.

Addition and Lots 7-12, Block 1, Ryan and Bergin Addn , from Galveston
Ave. east to Oak Grove Ave., both are as shown on the attached map.
The subject street and alley rights-of-way, acquired by dedication, are open
on the ground, improved, and contain water, sewer, gas, electric and telephone
utility facilities. The subject vacation request is made in order to replat
the vacated rights-of-way with adjacent property, to expand the building area,
and provide more usable yard space.
Reviewing City departments and private utility companies have raised no
objections to this request, subject to the replatting of the vacated rights-of-
way with abutting property and the retention/dedication of the vacated rights-
of-way as utility easements fo;r the existing utility facilities.
Recommendation
It is recommended that an Ordinance be adopted vacating the 1300 block of Oak
Grove Ave. and the 12' wide east/west alley adjacent to Lot 1-R, Block Q-R,
Rosedale Addition and Lots 7-12, Block 1, Ryan & Bergin Addn , as recommended
by the City Plan Commission.
