HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 8982 ,~ fi ,~~ •~ ~. a .~~ 4t ORDINANCE NO. 9 ~~ AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING AND EXTIN- GUISHING THE 12-FOOT WIDE EASTfWEST ALLEY AND INGRESS AND EGRESS EASEMENT LOCATED IN BLOCK 14, SOUTH SIDE ADDITION, FROM MAY STREET EASTWARD TO THE WEST PROPERTY LINE OF LOTS 1R AND 8R, BLOCK 14, SOUTH SIDE ADDITION; PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDI- NANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT the 12-foot wide east/west alley and ingress and egress easement located in Block 14, South Side Addition, from May Street eastward to the west property line of Lots 1R and 8R, Block 14, South Side Addition, be and the same is vacated, abandoned and per- manently closed and extinguished as a public alley right-of-way and ingress and egress easement. SECTION 2. That the fee to the land in the above described vacated public alley and ingress and egress easement is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law, SAVE AND EXCEPT that easements are retained f-or any and all existing and prospective utilities. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so or- dai.ned. Reviewing City x.Aw-i departments and private utility companies have raised no objections to this request pzovided the vacated rights of way are replatted with adjacent property ICIVIL DEFEN E x`'and said vacated rights of way are retained as utility easements for the existing facilities. A satisfactory replat, retaining and dedicating the appropriate and necessary utility easements, has been submitted The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends that the subject alley and i:ngre.ss/egress easement rights-of-way be vacated as requested.
