1) Call to Order
With a quorum of the City Council Members present, Mayor Price called the City
Council Budget Work Session to order at 2:01 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2016, in the
Pre Council Chamber of the Fort Worth City Hall, 1000 Throckmorton Street, Fort
Worth, Texas.

City Manager David Cooke provided opening comments and a review of the following:
a. Assessed Value Breakdown
b. Explanation Regarding Recommended
2Q Tax Rate Reduction
c. School Crossing Guards
d. Senior Citizen Services
e. Alleyway Maintenance
f. Police Budget

4) Proposed Planning and Development Fees
Planning and Development Director Randle Harwood reviewed the proposed Planning
and Development Fees for Fiscal Year 2017
5) Transportation Funding
Planning and Development Director Randle Harwood and TPW Director Doug Wiersig
reviewed Transportation Funding.
6) Other Budget Questions
Councilmember Allen Gray asked for follow-up on the maintenance of the
trees/landscape on new roadways.
Councilmember Espino asked for an update on the capital request from the Library.
Councilmember Jordan asked for continued planning for growth,transportation,tax rate
and needs for Police.
7) Wrap-up Discussion and Schedule Forward
There will be a public hearing on August 30, 2016, on the Budget and the Tax Rate. The
Planning and Development fees and the Water and Wastewater rates will also be on the
August 30, 2016, Council agenda. The FY 2017 Budget is scheduled for adoption on
September 13, 2016. The CCPD budget will be presented this evening at the CCPD
meeting and will be on the September 13, 2016, Council agenda for approval.

There being no further business, Mayor Price adjourned the meeting at 4:23 p.m. on
