AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING, AND CLOSING AND EXTIN-
GUISHING THE 10 FOOT WIDE NORTH/SOUTH ALLEY LOCATED IN
BLOCK 3/8, J. A. LEE SUBDIVISION OF FIELDS-WELCH ADDITION,
FROM THE NORTH RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF WEST ROSEDALE STREET
NORTHWARD TO THE NORTH PROPERTY LINES OF LOTS 63 AND 82 OF
SAID BLOCK; PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVID-
ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
THAT THE 10 foot wide north/south alley located in Block 3/8,
J.A. Lee Subdivision of Fields-Welch Addition, from the north
right-of-way line of West Rosedale Street northward to the north
property lines of Lots 63 and 82 of said block, be and the same is
vacated, abandoned, and permanently closed and extinguished as a
public alley right-of-way.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land in the above described vacated public
alley right-of-way is hereby released and shall revert to the
adjacent owner as provided by law, SAVE AND EXCEPT that easements
are retained for any and all existing and prospective utilities.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so
ordained.

F.RE ADMINI T~I~"~ubj ect alley, acquired by dedication, is open on the ground and contains
~~ sewer, electric, and street light utility facilities. The subject vacation
request was made in order to consolidate the vacated alley rights-of=way with
the adjacent property, to expand the building area, and provide more usable yard
space.
The opinion of the Real Property Department is that the compensable interest in
the land area comprising that portion of the north/south alley in Block 3/8,
J. A Lee Subdivision of the Fields-Welch Addn , is $3,000 for the portion of
the alley being vacated. This amount of money has been received and has been
placed in escrow by the Real Property Department.
Reviewing City departments and private utility companies have raised no objections
to this request, provided the portion of the vacated alley is replatted with
adjacent property and that same portion is retained as a utility easement for
existing utilities and a 10' wide access and utility easement is dedicated along
the north portion of Lot 82 to provide access from the remaining portion of the
alley to 6th Avenue A satisfactory replat in compliance with the above
requirements has been submitted
The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends that the
subject portion of the a1Tey be vacated as requested,
Recommendation
It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating a portion of the north,/
south alley in Block 3/8 of the J. A Lee Subdivision of the Rields-Welch Addn
adjacent to Lots 63-82 from the north line of West Rosedale Street northward to
tfie north line of Lots 63 and 82 of the same block, as recommended by the City
Plan Commission APPROVED BY
