AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0, 589, SAME
BEING AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING GASOLINE STATIONS
ON SECOND, NINTH, THIRTEENTH, AND FIFTEENTH STREETS
DESIGNATED AS FIRE CROSSINGS, AND PROVIDING FOR A
CHARGE FOR GASOLINE STATIONS OCCUPYING OR USING
STREETS AND SIDEWALXS,.`AND:'_PROVIDING FOR ITS
VIOLATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS.
SECTION I.
That this ordinance No. 559, be amended so as to
read as follows, to-wit:
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or cor-
poration from and after the passage and publication of this
ordinance to place or operate in any manner what ever a gasoline
station on either of the following streets, to-wit: Second,
Eighth, Ninth, Thirteenth and Fifteenth Streets.
SECTION II.
Be it further ordained, that an annual charge
of Twenty-four ($24.00) Dollars is hereby made against each and
every gasoline station installed, and making use of any street
or sidewalk, or any portion thereof within the' City of Fort Worth
from and after the passage and publication of this ordinance.
SECTION III.
It shall be the duty of all persons, firms, or
corporations desiring a permit to establish and use a gasoline
station on any street or sidewalk or any part thereof or where
any part of any' sidewalk is used for the purpose of ingress or
egress in connection with such gasoline station within the City
of Fort Worth, to apply to the tax collector of the City of 'Fort
Worth therefor, and to pay an atnival charge provided for herein
to sand Tax Collector, and upon said application being made,

and the payment of the charge provided/herein, it shall be the
duty of the City Tax Collector and upon said application being
made, and the payment of the charge provided for herein it shall be
the duty of the City tax Collector to issue said permit.

SECTION IV.
It shall be the duty of all persons, firms,
corporations installing such gasoline stations upon any street
or sidewalk as provided for herein to have same inspected and
approved by the fire marshall befora using same.
SECTION V.'
Any and all persons making use of any of the streets
and sidewalks, or any portion thereof, within the corporate
limits of the City of Fort-Worth as a gasoline station, as pro-
v'ded for herein, from and after the passage of this ordinance
without first paying the charges provided for herein, and having
same inspected and approved by the City Fire Marshall, shall be
deemed guilty of obstructing said street or sidewalk, and upon
conviction thereof shall be fined in a ny sum not exceeding
Fifty ($50.00) Dollars, and each day of such obstruction shall
constitute a separate offense:
SECTION VI.
This Ordinance shall be in force and take effect
from and after its passage and publication as required by law.
