During replacement of sanitary sewer line M-126 on Normandy Road, west of Queen Street (Mapsco 79A), unstable soil conditions were encountered that could not be avoided nor controlled. As the contractor performed the open cut, they experienced large amounts of sub-base material sloughing off from the trench. Upon considering the alternatives, it was thought best to perform a reconstruction of the roadway (a length of 310 LF) in conjunction with the 6" water line replacement(a length of 300 LF) -the water line is severely deteriorated and in need of replacement. The Department of Engineering requested TC&B to provide construction plans for replacement of approximately 310 feet of street pavement and 300 feet of waterline. Our previous fee for this work ($5,900 — Amendment 8) was based on showing all improvements — water and paving — on one plan/profile sheet. After the plans were completed, we were requested to prepare separate plan/profile sheets for the water and paving improvements, and add details to extend the curb 150 feet west on the north side of the road. Our estimated fee to complete this work is $1,000. Please see the Contract Fee Summary below.
