ORDINANCE NO
AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING, AND CLOSING THE 3800
BLOCK OF ASHLAND AVENUE, FROM THE NORTH RIGHT-OF-WAY
LINE OF W EST VICKERY BOULEVARD TO THE SOUTH RIGHT-OF-
WAY LINES OF THE EAST/WEST ALLEY LOCATED BETWEEN BLOCK
9, FACTORY PLACE ADDITION PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF
FEE IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CIT Y COUNCIL OF THE CIT Y OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS
SECTION 1
THAT the 3800 block of Ashland Avenue, from the north
right-of-way line of West Vickery Boulevard to the south right-
of-way lines of the east/west alley located between Block 9,
Factory Place Addition be and the same is vacated, abandoned, and
permanently closed as a right-of-way for alley purposes
SECTION 2
That the fee to the land in the above described vacated
alley right-of-way is hereby released and shall revert to the
adjacent owners as provided by law, SAVE AND EXCEPT that ease-
ments are retained for any and all existing utility and drainage
facilities
SECTION 3
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby r epeal ed
SECTION 4
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so
ordained

Messrs, Michael Bars and Pat Seagraves, with the consent of all abutting pro-
perty owners, have requested that the City vacate the 3800 block-of Ashland
Avenue, a width of 50' from the north right-of-way 3~,ne of West Vickery Boulevard,
extending 113 5' northward to the east/west alley located between Block 9,
sTR~,actory Place Addition, and Blocks 6 and 7, Sunset Heights Addition, as shown

The subject right-of-way, acquired by dedication, is not open on the ground and
is_>proved, but contains telephone and drainage utility facilities. The sub-

ect vacation request is made in order to replat the vacated'fight-of-way with
adjacent property to expand the building area and provide more usable yard space
Reviewing City departments and private utility companies have raised no objec-
tions to this request, provided the vacated right-of-way is replatted with
adjacent property, and the vacated right-of-way is retained as a drainage and
utility easement for the existing drainage and utility facilities
The Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends that the subject
- -street-rigti~-of-way be vacated
Recommendation
It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating the 3800 block of Ashland
Avenue
