ORDINANCE NO _ ~~'_i2~-1-
AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING, AND CLOSING A CERTAIN
PORTION OF THE 5928 BLOCK OF EAST LANCASTER AVENUE, A
WIDTH OF 17 FEET, FROM THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF LOT 8,
BLOCK 3, WEST HANDLEY ADDITION, WEST 65 FEET TO A POINT 15
FEET WEST OF THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF LOT 7, BLOCK 3, WEST
HANDLEY ADDITION PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID
LAND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS
SECTION 1
THAT A certain portion of the 5928 block of East Lancaster
Avenue, a width of seventeen feet (17'), from the northeast corner
of Lot 8, Block 3, West Handley Addition, west sixty-five feet (65')
to a point fifteen feet (15') west of the northeast corner of Lot 7,
Block 3, West Handley Add°ition, and being more particularly
described as follows
A 65 by 17 foot strip in front or northeast of Lot 8 and
the East 15 0 feet of Lot 7, West Handley Addition de-
scribed as follows
BEGINNING at a pipe 17 0 N 22 20' 19" E from the N W
corner of said East 15 0 feet of Lot 7
THENCE S 67 49' E 65 0 feet along the south line of
East Lancaster Avenue to a pipe for corner
THENCE S 22 20' 19 W 17 0 feet to the northeast corner
of said Lot 8
THENCE N 67 49' W 65 0 feet along the north line of
Lots 8 and 7 to a point for corner
THENCE N 22 20' 19 E 17 0 feet to the POINT OF
BEGINNING
be and the same is vacated, abandoned, and permanently closed as a
right-of-way for street purposes
SECTION 2
That the fee to the land in the above described vacated street
right-of-way is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent
owners as provided by law
SECTION 3
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed

SECTION 4
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so
ordained

Mr Max L LaDuke and Ms Kathleen Paynter, owners of all abutting property
have requested that the City vacate the 5928 block of East Lancaster Avenue a
width of 17' from the northeast corner of Lot 8 Block 3 West Handley Addition
as shown on the attached map
The subject right-of-way, acquired by dedication consists of landscaped
parkway and contains no utility facilities 'The subject vacation request is
made in order to expand the building area and provide more usable yard space
Reviewing City departments and private utility companies have raised no
objections to this request provided the vacated right-of-way is replatted
with adjacent property
The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends that the
subject street be vacated as requested
Recommendation
It is recommended that an Ordinance be adopted vacating the 5928 block of
East Lancaster Avenue, as recommended by the (:ity Plan Commission
