HomeMy WebLinkAboutContract 29795 AMENDMENT TO ENGINEERING CONTRACT STATE OF TEXAS § CITY SECRETARY COUNTY OF TARRANT § Contract No. 4 WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and Dunaway Associates, Inc., (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 28656 (the "Contract") on the 13th day of May, 2003, and WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the following project: Fort Worth Cats Parking Lot Expansion. WHEREAS, it has become necessary to amend said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee; NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract: 1. Article I, Section 1 of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated 3/29/04, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional services to be performed by Engineer is $2,400.00. 2. Article III of the Contract is amended to provide for an increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not exceed the sum of$ 20,800.31. 3. Department of Transportation & Public Works 1000 Throckomorton Fort Worth, Texas 76102 Reference: Amendment No. 3 to Engineering Contract City Contract No. 28656 Revised Scope of Services and Additional Fees Dear George: This request for additional fees covers the city's desire to provide construction staking for the installation of site lighting and pavement reconstruction for the existing temporary parking lot north of Fifth Street. Please find attached the appropriate amendment and attachments. The revised additional services are: 1. DAI will provide Construction staking for the re-construction of pavement and installation of site lighting on the existing parking lot North of N Fifth Street and South of N 6t' Street. A copy of this survey is included with this proposal. It is the desire of the City of Fort Worth to construct parking lots on this property to serve as both overflow parking for the Fort Worth Cats Stadium and parking for patrons using the city's bus transportation system. Accordingly, North Fourth Street shall serve as an entrance for bus traffic that will turn and run along former North Calhoun Street for loading and unloading and then exit out North Fifth Street. In addition, the city desires to fill the existing three evaporation ponds that are just east of North Jones Street and just North of North Fifth Street. Although fill has recently been placed on the property, no new topographic survey will be performed. Earthwork calculations will not be performed. Per George Behmanesh, P.E., flood studies for impact on Sump No. 26W from this project will not be performed. 1. DAI will prepare a striping plan and grading and drainage plan for the approximately 8.0 acres of additional parking. These plans will be prepared in accordance with City of Fort Worth Standards and will be approved by the City of Fort Worth for construction. These plans will be sealed by a professional engineer licensed in the State of Texas. 2. DAI will provide construction staking for Tarrant County forces to assist them in constructing the improvements designed by DAI. 3. DAI will prepare a design topographic survey of the right-of-way of N. 4t' Street between N. Calhoun Street and N. Commerce Street. 4. DAI will provide Plan & Profile engineering design for reconstruction of N. 4t' Street between N. Calhoun Street and N. Commerce Street. The proposed street improvements will utilize the existing concrete curb and gutters. 5. DAI will provide Plan & Profile engineering design for reconstruction of N. 5th Street between N. Calhoun Street and N. Commerce Street. The proposed street improvements will utilize the existing concrete curb and gutters. 6. The breakdown of this fee is as follows: 1. Striping Plans - $2,500.00 2. Grading & Drainage Plans- $5,000.00 3. Paving Plan & Profiles $2,750.00 4. Construction Staking - $9,550.31 5.
