For several years, the City has furnished an official car to be used in various
official functions, which has been assigned to the Mayor. The official car has
previously been obtained by retaining a vehicle from the regular service fleet.
The car presently in use' is a 1973 Ford Sedan.
The lease of a vehicle of the proposed class, designated with an official seal
of the City of Fort Worth, is in keeping with policies of other cities of
comparable size and is more suitable to the requirements of the many prestigious
events at which the Mayor represents all of the citizens of Fort Worth.
The $9.26/month difference in price between the two proposals is negligible, and
the proposal by Frank Kent Cadillac Sales is believed to represent the best offer
to the City.
