AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF CHAPIN
SCHOOL ROAD TO CHAPEL CREEK BOULEVARD FROM
THE NORTH RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF THE 10 000
BLOCK OF INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 30 TO ITS INTER-
SECTION WITH THE SOUTH RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF
COUNTY ROAD NO 1022 MAKING THIS ORDINANCE
CUMULATIVE OF SIMILAR ORDINANCES AFFECTING
STREET NAMES REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH
TEXAS
SECTION 1
That the name of Chapin School Road which extends from the
north right-of-way line of the 10 000 block of Interstate
Highway 30 north for a distance of approximately 4 000 feet to
its intersection with the south right-of-way line of County Road
No 1022 (Old Weatherford Road) at its most northerly latitude
be and the same is hereby changed to Chapel Creek Boulevard
SECTION 2
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of all other ordi-
nances affecting the names of streets in the City of Fort Worth
except insofar as it may be in conflict with the provisions of
these ordinances in which instance they are hereby expressly re-
peal ed
SECTION 3
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after the date of its passage and it is so
ordained

Mr Joseph S Howell III, has requested that Chapin Scholl Road be changed to
Chapel Creek Boulevard
The location of the proposed street name change is situated in the far West Side
of Fort Worth, west of West Loop 820 (a/k/a Jim Wright Freeway South) and extends
south from the 10000 block of I-30, commencing at the north right-of-way line of
I-30 at its intersection with Chapin School Road and extending northfnorthwesterl
approximately 4 000' along the east right-of-way line of Chapin School Road to
its intersection with the south right-of-way line of County 1022 (Old Weatherford
Road)
The Department of Transportation/Public Works has stated that this change would
require the replacement of three street name signs at a total cost of $300 and
will require changes in ff°eeway signs at a cost to the State Department of
Highways of approximately $25,000 Therefore, upon approval of this street name
change the applicant must make the necessary arrangements with the Department
of Transportation and the State Department of Highways regarding reimbursement
for costs of street and freeway -signs All other reviewing City-departments
the Postmaster and private utility companies have offered no objections to this
proposed street name change A public hearing is scheduled for t®day's city
Council meeting, and all abutting property owners have been notified for the
scheduled hearing
Recommendation
It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted changing the name of Chapin School
Road to Chapel Creek Boulevard
