It is proposed that the City Council waive the festival equipment rental fees for the Handley Street
Festival.
DISCUSSION:
The Historical Handley Initiative Development Corporation is a 501-(c) (3) non-profit organization
created to improve the quality of life and preserve the historical aesthetics of the Handley
community. The second annual Handley Street Festival is scheduled for Saturday, October 14, 2000.
The proceeds from this festival will be utilized to improve the Handley community. Last year's
proceeds are being utilized to help fund the installation of streetlights.
The City's Festival Equipment Rental Policy establishes fees for rental of various pieces of festival
equipment. The Corporation has requested the use of festival equipment and that the fees for the
equipment be waived.
Given the fact that all funds raised will directly benefit the City of Fort Worth, it is proposed that the
rental fees be waived.
