AN ORDINANCE MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS; PROVIDING FOR THE
EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY
CONSISTING OF 14.38 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, OF LAND,
WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE
PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS;
PROVIDING THAT THE TERRITORY ANNEXED SHALL BEAR ITS PRO
RATA SHARE OF TAXES; PROVIDING THAT THE INHABITANTS
THEREOF SHALL HAVE ALL OF THE PRIVILEGES OF ALL THE
CITIZENS OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE
SHALL AMEND EVERY PRIOR ORDINANCE IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;
PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE CUMULATIVE OF ALL
PRIOR ORDINANCES NOT IN DIRECT CONFLICT; PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND NAMING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council of Fort Worth,
Texas, wherein all interested persons were provided with an opportunity to
be heard on the proposed annexation of the territory hereinafter described,
was held at the City Council Chamber in the City Hall of Fort Worth, Texas ,
on the 25th day of October, 1972, which date is not more than twenty (20) nor
less than ten (10) days prior to the institution of annexation proceedings;
and
WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published in a newspaper
having general circulation in the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and in the
hereinafter described territory on the 6th day of October, 1972, which date
is not more than twenty (20) nor less than ten (10) days prior to the date
of such public hearing; and
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, is in
excess of 390,000 inhabitants; and
WHEREAS, the corporate area of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, was
230.517 square miles on January 1 , 1972; and

WHEREAS, the hereinafter described territory lies within the extra-
territorial jurisdiction of the City of Fort Worth , Texas ; and
WHEREAS, the hereinafter described territory lies adjacent to and adjoins
the City of Fort Worth, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the territory hereinafter described contains approximately
14.38 Acres,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION I.
That the following described land and territory located approximately
10 miles south from the Courthouse of Tarrant County, Texas, lying adjacent to and
adjoining the City of Fort Worth, Texas, is hereby added to and annexed to the
City of Fort Worth , Texas , and said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be
included within the boundary limits of the City of Fort Worth, Texas , and the bound-
ary limits of said City, at the various points contiguous to the area hereinafter
described, are altered and amended so as to include said area within the corporate
limits of the City of Fort Worth, Texas , to wit:
1 . Being a tract or parcel of land out of the James W. Williams Survey,
Abstract #1599, situated in Tarrant County, Texas , and described as
follows :
BEGINNING at a point in the present City Limit Line of the City of
Fort Worth, said point is North 89 degrees - 58 minutes West 766.0
feet, North 450.0 feet, North 83 degrees - 27 minutes West 1180.0
feet and South 0 degrees - 07 minutes East 1600.0 feet from the
Northwest corner of the S.A. & M.G. Railroad Company Survey, Abstract
#1463, same being the Most Easterly Northeast corner of said Williams
Survey;
THENCE along the said City Limit Line, North 50 degrees - 18 minutes
East 425.0 feet to a point, then South 32 degrees - 49 minutes East
160.0 feet to a point, then along a curve to the Right having a radius
of 92.77 feet a distance of 95.29 feet to the end of curve, then
South 70 degrees - 49 minutes East 389 feet, more or less , to a
point for corner on said City Limit Line;
THENCE South 50 degrees - 20 minutes West 1167 feet more or less , to
a point for corner on said City Limit Line;
THENCE North 0 degrees - 07 minutes West 730.7 feet more or less , to
the point of Beginning and containing 9.78 acres of Land, more or less.
2. Being a tract or parcel of Land out of the James W. Williams Survey,
Abstract #1599, situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and described
by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron pin in the South line of said Williams Survey,
said iron pin is 1857.6 feet West of its Southeast corner;
THENCE North 89 degrees - 52 minutes West along the South line of
said Survey, 220.0 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE North 0 degrees - 08 minutes East 180.0 feet to a point for
corner;
THENCE South 89 degrees - 52 minutes East 40 feet, more or less, to
a point for corner;
THENCE Northerly 160 feet, more or less, to a point for corner;
THENCE North 78 degrees - 57 minutes East 190.0 feet, to a point
for corner;
THENCE South 11 degrees - 03 minutes East 25.95 feet to a point
for corner;
THENCE North 78 degrees - 57 minutes East 210 feet, more or less,
to a point for corner;
THENCE South 34 degrees - 24 minutes East 187 feet to a point for
corner in the South line of existing County Road #1035;
THENCE South 55 degrees - 36 minutes West along the South line of
said Road 405 feet, more or less, to the point of Beginning and
containing 3.2 acres of Land, more or less.
3. Being a tract or parcel of Land out of the James W. Williams
Survey, Abstract #1599, situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and
described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the Proposed New West line of McCart Street,
in the present Fort Worth City Limit Line, said point is North
1 degree - 08 minutes East 1330.8 feet and South 52 degrees - 10 minutes
West 116.53 feet from the southeast corner of said Williams Survey;
THENCE South 52 degrees - 10 minutes West 290.0 feet, more or less,
to a point for corner;
THENCE North 34 degrees - 24 minutes West 53.0 feet, more or less,
to the beginning of a curve to the Left;
THENCE along said curve to the Left 80.0 feet, more or less, to a
point for corner;
THENCE Northeasterly 155.0 feet, more or less, to a point;
THENCE Easterly 285.0 feet more or less, to a point for corner in
the proposed West R.O.W. Line of McCart Street, and in the Fort Worth
City Limit Line;
THENCE South 1 degree - 08 minutes West along said City Limit Line
177.0 feet, more or less, to the point of Beginning and containing
1 .4 acres of Land, more or less .
SECTION 2.
That the foregoing-described territory and the area annexed shall
be a part of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and the property so added hereby
shall bear its pro rata share of the taxes levied by the City of Fort Worth,
Texas, and the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the rights and
privileges of all the citizens and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances,
resolutions and regulations of the City of Fort Worth, Texas.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall and does hereby amend every prior
ordinance in conflict herewith, but as to all other ordinances or sections of
ordinances not in direct conflict herewith this ordinance shall be and is
hereby made cumulative.

SECTION 4.
If any section, subsection, clause, sentence, phrase, or word
of this ordinance is for any reason held void or unconstitutional , by a court
of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of
the remaining sections, subsections, clauses, sentences, phrases, or words
except as the same are inseparable from and indispensable to the remaining
portions of the ordinance.
SECTION 5.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
the date of its passage on first reading and publication and its passage on
second reading as provided for in Section 40 of Chapter XXVIII of the Charter
of the City of Fort Worth and it is so ordained.

Wedgwood Addition
The Essex Company and Fort Worth Independent School District have-requested
that the City of Fort Worth annex and make available municipal facilities
and services to three tracts of land containing 14.3 acres of land located
in the Wedgwood Addition, as shown on the attached map.
The owners of the property have presented to the City Secretary- a petition
for annexation accompanied by the required affidavits attesting that the
petition has been duly published and posted and that no persons reside in
the area requested for annexation, in accordance with Article 970a, of the
Revised Civil Statute of the State of Texas.
The request 'aas been reviewed by City departments and their findings have
been reviewed by the City Plan Commission which recommends annexation of
the 14.3 acres as requested. Municipal services and facilities can be
made available under standard development policies.
A copy of the timetable showing the sequence and timing of the necessary
additional step and a map of the area are attached.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council adopt a resolution setting October 16,
1972, at 9 :30 A.M. as the time for public hearing on the contemplated annexa-
tion and authorizing and directing the City Secretary to publish the notices
required by State Statute.

Texas , on Wednesday, October 25, 1972, at 9:30 A. M. in the Council Chambers , Second

ation of the hereinafter described territory to the City of Fort Worth:
