BJECT: Final payment - Assessment PAGE NUMBER No, 104-24000-250aving at Two Locations West Side 3/24/75 FP-1072lof 1 Final Council action on the Project described below is requested, Project Description Name: Assessment Paving at Two Locations West Side, Proj. No. 104-24000-250 Contractor: Texas Bitulithic Company, Contract Awarded: August 19, 1974 (M&C C-2892) Work Order Issued: September 30, 1974 Work Order Effective: October 14, 1974 Work Began: October 14, 1974 Date of Final Inspection and Approval: February 12, 1975 Working Time Bid: 30 Working Days Working Time Used: 22 Working Days Project Cost and Financing Original Bid Price: $45,630.00 Final. Contract Cost: $40,672.23 Partial Payments Previously Made: 3, Amount: $36,558.57 Final Payment Due: $4,113.66. Sufficient funds are available for the final payment to be made from Project Number 104-24000-250. Deviation from Bid Price: The final contract cost of this project is $4,957.77 or 10.9 percent under the bid price. The major portion of the savings, $4,400, resulted because it was not necessary to construct sub- drains. The remaining cost difference $557.77, is attributed to minor variations between quantities estimated in the contract documents and quantities measured and used at the job site. Also it was not necessary to adjust as many utilities as anticipated. Compliance with Specifications Tests made during construction show materials used and required thicknesses were in compliance with contract specifications. Recommendations It is recommended that the project described be accepted by the adoption of an ordinance and that final payment of $4,113.66 be made to Texas Bitulithic Company.
