O RD I NANC E NO ~__<~ AN ORDINANCE INCREASING BY $15 000 THE ESTIMATED REVE- NUES ACCRUING TO THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1981-1982 AND APPROPRIATING FROM THE INCREASED ESTIMATED REVENUES OF THE GENERAL FUND THE SUM OF $15 000 TO ACCOUNT NO 200-956-04 FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE MEALS-ON-WHEELS PROGRAM FOR THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY 1982 PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH TEXAS SECTION 1 That the estimated revenues accruing to the General Fund of the City of Fort Worth for the Fiscal Year 1981-1982 are hereby increased by $15 000 and that in addition to providing the City Manager with such other revenue as may be secured from various sources included in Ordinance No 8391 and in the Budget of the City Manager there shall also be appropriated from the increased revenues of the General Fund the sum of $15 000 to the Meals-On-Wheels Program Budget Account No 200-956-04 to fund the month of February 1982 SECTION 2 Should any portion section or part of a section of this Ordinance be declared invalid inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction such decision. opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions sections or parts of sections of this Ordinance which said remaining pro- visions shall be and remain in full force and effect SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No 8391 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ~_ ~: ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations in which instances said conflicting provisions are hereby expressly repealed SECTION 4 That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage and it is so ordained APPROVED AS TO FORM AND LEGALITY W ~/v City Attorney ADOPTED EFFECTIVE -2- r~ -~*~ City of 1~ort Worth, ~'exas JD~ll~y®~ ,ava,z~ ~®~.~~,~a~ ~®~-,~,~~,a~~~ta®~ LJ u DATE 12/8/81 REFERENCE NUMBER **G-5170 SUBJECT Donation for Meals-on-Wheels Program PAGE 1 i°r On November 24 1981 (M&C C-6007) the City Council authorized the City to enter. into a renewal contract with Senior Citizens Centers Inr_ in the amount of $44 048 for the continuation through January 1982 of the Meals-on-Wheels Program Members of. the Council were advised that this program might experienc e funding cuts prior to the end of Fiscal Xear 1982 The Mary Pott' Lard Trust a private foundation has donated $15 000 to enable the p ogram to continue an additional month through February 2$ 1982 In view of projected cuts ~,nd the merits of this program that provides home-deli- vered meals to elderly cia izens it is recommended. that the City accept the donation for use in the Mea].s-on-Wheels Program The present cost per meal delivered is $2 35 therefore the $15 000 donation. can finance the cost of 6 383 meals projected for February 1982 Recommendations It is recommended that the City Council J, Accept the gift from the Mary Pottishman Lard Trust in t}1e amount of $1.5 000; 2 Adopt a supplemental appropriation ordinance appropriating $15 000 from increased estimated budget revenues of the General Fund to Accaunt No 200-956-04 and 3 Authorize ~t~e City Manager to execute a contract with Senior Citizens Centers as authorized November 24 1981 but in an additional amount of $15 000 for a total not to exceed $59 048 for the period 'beginning December 1 1981 and ending February 28 1982 APPROVED BY ciTY cou~vci~ pEC 8 t SUBMITTED FOR 1Ht CITY MANAGER'S ~ '~ ~ ,^.,, ; ' -~- DISPOSITION BY COUN IL: ~ PROCESSED BY OFFICE BY ~/~ G` ~ t~~__ ~< / . ~. ~. __ ^ APPROVED -s ORIGINATING bEPARTMENT HEAD: [) OTH ~~, r~~ry of then / R' C OP Font Wofith~ ;(' CITY SECRETARY FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 7 CONTACT n ADOPTE~11 OR~IPIANCE ~~ ~~Q~ E
