ORDINANCE NO. CITY SECRETARY

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT COVELO AVENUE FROM
LAWNWOOD AVENUE TO GALVEZ AVENUE BE VACATED,
ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVER-
SION OF THE FEE IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDI-
NANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING THAT
THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1 .
The the following portions of Covelo Avenue be and
the same are hereby closed, abandoned and permanently va-
cated as a street or public thoroughfare of any kind or char-
acter whatever:
That portion of Covelo Avenue from the north
line of Lawnwood Avenue to the south line of the
alley in Blocks 42 and 43 , Riverside Addition
to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas;
and
That portion of Covelo Avenue from the north
line of said alley to the south line of Galvez
Avenue.
SECTION 2 .
That the fee to the land in said street is hereby re-
leased and will revert to the adjacent owner as provided by
law, save and except that easements are reserved for any and
all existing utilities, including a 10 foot easement for
the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company transmission line,
being measured 5 feet each side of the center line of the trans-
mission line, and a 10 foot easement for the sanitary sewer
line, being measured 5 feet each side of the center line of
the sanitary sewer line.
SECTION 3 .
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after the date of its passage.

Mrs. Mr-Knight and Gentlemen:
A request has been received from the adjacent property owner t,.-,) close
Covelo Aveni.,,e from Lawnwood Avenue to Ga lvez. Avenue. The purpose of this
street closing is to consolidate and develop this area as commercial '
property. This portion of Covelo Avenue has not been opened to the public
for a number of years.
The Public Works.Department and the City Planning Department have investi-
gated this request and have found no objections to the requested closing.
There are existing Texas Electric Service Company, Southwestern Bell
Telephone Company and sanitary sewer facilities I'ocated within the subject
street which will require easement reservations. Right-of-way is tc, be
reserved for the alley in Blocks 42 and 43, Riverside Addition.
The portion of Covelo Avenue to, be closed is described as follows:
Covelo Avenue from the north line of Lawnwood Avenue 'to the
south line of the alley in Blocks 42 and 43, Riverside Ade'iti(ons,
to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas and Covel,�
Avenue from the north line of said alley to the South line (--,f

It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted for the closinq of t,)e
portion of Covelo Avenue as described, and reserving necessary easements.
