OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER Communication to Mayor and Council No. PW`1369
November 12, 1962
Honorable Mayor and
Members of the City Council Re: Proposed Street Name Change
City of Fort Worth Michigan Avenue
Mrs. McKnight and Gentlemen:
Two streets within the corporate limits of the City bear the name Michigan
Avenue. One of the streets is located in the Brookside Annex, area, and
the other is a one-block length extending from Seminary Drive to Thornhill
Drive in the Seminary South area, as shown on the attached plat.
Michigan Avenue from Seminary Drive to Thornhill Drive is the proper loca-
tion for South Main Street in this area since it marks the separation of
East Seminary Drive from West Seminary Drive. No addresses have been
assigned, and adjacent property owners and other interested parties have
offered no objections to a name change; therefore, the Public Works Depart-
ment and the City Planning Department propose that the name of Michigan
Avenue from Seminary Drive to Thornhill Drive be changed to South Main
Street.
It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted making this change.
Respectfully submitted,
