HomeMy WebLinkAboutContract 29379 AMENDMENT NO. 3 STATE OF TEXAS $ CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO. •-) / '9" 1 (No M&C Needed) COUNTY OF TARRANT $ WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and Kimley-Horn & Associates, Inc. , (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 27675, (the Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-19071 on the 30th day of April 2002 ; and WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the following project: WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS IN THE MEDICAL DISTRICT WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 3 to said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee; NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract: 1. Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated October 221 20031 a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional construction services to be performed by Engineer totals $24,800 .00. 2 . Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not exceed the sum of $967 ,000.00. � C, � 6 Ipi C �•. � i �, lul 4 �� 3. These items include the following: • Revisions to the water line size and alignment along Pruitt Street from 6'Avenue to 7`h Avenue (sheets 11 and 12) prepared by Dunaway and Associates. Kimley-Horn revised the plan sheets prepared by Dunaway and Associates due to the conflicts with the proposed water line and the existing Cook Children's Medical Center (CCMC) tunnels. These revisions included additional meetings with the City and CCMC. • Revisions to the water line size along Pruitt Street from 7'Avenue to 8`h Avenue (sheet 10) due to the conflicts stated previously. • Revisions to the sequencing and additional coordination with the City of Fort Worth Fire Department and CCMC for the shut down and reconnection to the existing CCMC fire and domestic services located on 6ffi Avenue. • Revisions to the water line size and alignment along 6' Avenue (sheet 16) prepared by Dunaway and Associates. These changes were due to conflicts with the proposed water line and the existing CCNZC tunnel. • Revisions to the water line size and alignment along Pennsylvania Avenue to add a backup domestic and fire line for the CCMC facilities. The fee for the construction phase services in Amendment No. 2 was not a maximum or minimum fee for this task. In order for Kimley-Horn to complete the construction phase services for this project, we are recommending that the City increase the maximum fee not to exceed budget by$24,800 for a project not to exceed amount of$967,000, as shown in Table 1.
