AN ORDINANCE VACATING ABANDONING AND CLOSING
ALEMEDA ROAD (DR HARRIS ROAD) FROM ACADEMY
BOULEVARD SOUTHEAST TO ALEMEDA ROAD (DR HARRIS
ROAD)/RUNNYMEADE PLACE CONNECTION PROVIDING FOR
REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH TEXAS
SECTION 1
THAT Alemeda Road from Academy Boulevard to Runnymeade Place
more particularly described as follows
COr1MENCING at the northeast corner of the
intersection of Academy Boulevard and Runnymeade
Place
THENCE Northerly along the east right-of-way
line of Academy Boulevard along a curve to the
left said curve having a radius of 3226 99 feet
an arc length of 307 51 feet and a long chord
which bears North 10 degrees 29 minutes 03 seconds
East 307 40 feet to the point of beginning of the
herein described tract
THENCE continuing along said curve to the left
and arc length of 228 43 feet to a point
THENCE South 89 degrees 36 minutes .East 8 30
feet to a point said point being in the east
right-of-way of Old Alemeda Road said point~:also
being the beginning of a non-tangent curve to the
left having a radius of 756 27 feet and a long
chord which bears South 16 degrees 58 minutes East
322 21 feet
THENCE Along said curve to the left and along the
east right-of-way of Alemeda an arc length of 324 70
feet to a point
THENCE South 29 degrees 16 minutes East 587 27 feet
to a point
THENCE North 42 degrees 04 minutes 09 seconds West
136 69 feet to the beginning of a curve to the left
said curve having a radius..:of 564 0 feet and a long
chord which bears North 49 degrees 25 minutes 07
seconds West 144 29 feet
THENCE Along said curve to the left an arc length
of 144 69 feet
THENCE North 29 degrees 16 minutes West 318 52 feet
to the beginning of a curve to the right said curve
having a radius of 836 27 feet and a long chord which
bears North 24 degrees 43 minutes 54 seconds West
132 24 feet
THENCE Along said curve to the right an arc length
of 132 38 feet to the point of beginning and containing
52 398 square feet or 1 203 acres of land

be and the same is vacated abandoned and permanently closed as
a right-of-way for street purposes
SECTION 2
That the fee to the land in the above described vacated street
right-of-way is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent
owners as provided by law SAVE AND EXCEPT that easements are
retained for any and all existing and prospective utilities
SECTION 3
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed
SECTION 4
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after the date of its passage and it is so ordained

The subject street right-ref-way acquired by dedication as open on the ground
althGUgh temporarily barricaded,-paved to county standards and contains utility
facg.li~:s.es The owner of fhe abutting property to the east and west ~f the
proposed ~,acat.ior~ is currently planning development G~f his property and proposes
to inc:~.~de the vacated ~aght-of-way sn his develGpmen.t plans now being prepared
Fu~:ther vacation of the subject right-of-way wall eliminate. an unused road am-
pr.~~ved toy counlsy utandard:v which is left with two undesirable intersections
since A~emeda Read was. realigned ~to connect wat.h Runnymeade Place at Academy
Boulevard
I~.evie~;ning City departmex~ies and private utility companies have raised no objec-
tions to this request provided the vacated street right-of~way ;f~ replatted
wa.th. adjacent porpex°ty and retained as a utal.ity easement
The City Plan Comm~,asion has rer~i.ewed than request and recommends that the
subject str~,e.t right-of-way be vacated as requested The Commission stipulated
that thle usual requirement to replat vacated right-of-way with abutting property
may be held in abeyance for 180 days and the request for vacation of right-of-way
may be forwarded to the City CGUncil for adcJptaon of an ordinance without
compl~.ance ~t this time with the requirement .to rep~.at The Commission also
utipulate.d in ac.cordan.e with. engineer`s agree;rent that a survey of the
abutting property to include the vacated right-of-way be submitted for inclusion
in the file of this case An acceptable survey map has been submitted
