The Metropolitan .Board of Missions of the United Methodist Church is requesting
annexation and C Apartment initial zoning of a small tract of land to which
they hold title The property is a 4 59-acre tract out of the I Flores Survey
located on County Road 1035 a short .distance south of County Road 1054 The
applicant purchased this tract some years ago anticipating eventually using it
as a church site Now they are in the process of relocating one of their
congregations into the CandleRidge area less than one mile from this tract
Therefore the relocation makes this tract expendable as a, church site (see
attached Exhibit Map A )
In reviewing this request the City Plan Commission was provided a staff report
on the feasibility of annexation .and C Apartment zoning (see attached staff
report) All affected property owners were notified and appeared before the City
Plan Commission on May 28 1980 regarding the annexation Following the
hearing the City Plan Commission recommended that the above referenced property
be annexed into the City of Fort Worth
Plan Commission
The following were major factors considered by the City Plan Commission in
arriving at their recommendation to the City Council
1 The Development Review Committee recommended approval of the requested
annexation and C Apartment initial zoning
2 The C Apartment initial zoning is compatible with the recent appr-oval of
The Properties Inc concept plan which in effect, amended the District H
General Plan
3 In January 1980 the City of Fort Worth annexed approximately 516 acres of
The Properties Inc which adjoins the subject request
4 The fiscal impact to the City of Fort Worth based on the annexation report
of The Properties Inc appears to be negligible
5 The subject property was left out of The Properties Inc request for
annexation due to different ownership However the subject request is a
logical part of the annexation of the area
