AN ORDINANCE. VACATING ABANDONING AND CLOSING
THE NORTH-SOUTH ALLEY ADJACENT. TO LOTS 5-11
BLOCK 172 M G ELLIS ADDITION A WIDTH OF 20
FEET AND A LENGTH OF 150 FEET EXTENDING FROM
THE SOUTH RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE. OF NORTHEAST 23RD STREET
TO THE NORTH PROPERTY LINE OF LOT 12 BLOCK 172
M G ELLIS ADDITION AND THE EAST-WEST ALLEY
ABUTTING AND ADJACENT TO LOTS 11 AND 12 BLOCK
172 M G ELLI5 ADDITION A WIDTH OF 20 FEET
AND A LENGTH OF 160 FEET EXTENDING FROM THE
EAST RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF NORTH CALHOUN STREET
TO THE WEST RIGHT.-OF-WAY LINE OF THE NORTH-SOUTH
ALLEY IN BLOCK 172 M G ELLIS ADDITION PROVIDING
FOR THE REVERSION OF FEE' IN SAID LAND REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES :IN CONFLICT` ,HEREWITH_ .AND PROV.ID.ING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH TEXAS
SECTION 1
That the north-south alley adjacent to Lots 5-11 Block
172 M G Ellis Addition a width of 20 feet and a length of 150
feet extending from the south right-of-way line of Northeast 23rd
Street to the north property line of Lot 12 Block 172 M G Ellis
Addition and the east-west alley abutting and adjacent to Lots 11
and 12 Block 172 M G Ellis Addition a width of 20 feet and a
length of 160 feet extending from the east right-of-way line of North
Calhoun Street to the west right-of-way line of the north-south alley
in Block 172 M G Ellis Addition be and the same are hereby vacated,
abandoned and permanently closed as rights-of-way for alley purposes
SECTION 2
That the fee to the lands in the above described vacated
alleys is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owner as
provided by law SAVE AND EXCEPT that easements are~;retained for .any
and all existing and prospective utilities
SECTION 3
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed
SECTION 4
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after the date of its passage and it is so ordained

Mr Craig W Parris owner of all abutting property has requested that the
City vacate the north-south alley adjacent to Lots 5-11 Block 172 M G Ellis
Addition a width of 20' from Northeast 23rd Street south to the north
property line of Lot 12 and to vacate the east-west alley adjacent to Lots 11
and 12 Block 172 M G Ellis Addition a width of 20` from North Calhoun
Street east to the north-south alley in Block 172 M G Ellis Addition as
shown on the attached map
The subject alley rights-of-way acquired by dedication are neither open on
the ground nor improved The north-south alley right-of-way contains utility
facilities while the east-west alley right-of-way does not
Reviewing City departments and private utility companies have raised no objec-
tions to this request provided the vacated rights-of-way are replatted with
adjacent property and satisfactory easements for the existing utility facili-
ties are dedicated by the replat A satisfactory replat has been submitted
to City staff
The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends that the
subject alley rights-of-way be vacated
Recommendation
It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating the subject alley
rights-of-way
