HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 6557 ORDINANCE NO. 6,667 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE 1200 AND 1300 BLOCKS OF ASH (COLLEGE) AVENUE AND THE 600 BLOCK OF WEST PRESIDIO STREET BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE RE- VERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EF- FECTIVE DATE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS : SECTION 1. That the following rights-of-way be and the same are hereby closed, abandoned and permanently vacated as streets or public thoroughfares of any kind or character whatever: Ash (College) Avenue in the 1200 and 1300 blocks from West Lancaster Street south to the southeast corner of Lot 8, Block 15, T. & P. Railway Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas; and West Presidio Street in the 600 block, being all of that right-of-way which lies south of Lots 1 through 4, Block 16, T. & Po Railway Addition, and eastward from the east right-of-way line of the above de- scribed Ash (College) Avenue a distance of approximately 160 feet. SECTION 2 . That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee to the land in said streets is hereby released and shall re- vert to the adjacent owner of the fee as provided by law. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage. Ash (College) Street in the 1200 and 1300 blocks from West Lan- caster Street south to the southeast corner of Lot 8, Block 15, �� T & P Railway Addition, a width of 60 feet and a length of ap- OJ / proximately 270 feet. 2. West Presidio Street in the 600 block: All of that right-of-way which lies south of Lots 1 through 4, Block 16, T & P Railway Co. Addition, and eastward from the east right-of-way line of the above described Ash (College) Street a distance of approxi- mately 160 feet. Subject rights-of-way, acquired by dedication, are not paved. This request is made in order to replat, expand the building area and to provide for additional offstreet parking. There are existing water, sewer, electric and telephone facilities located within the subject rights-of-way. City departments and private utility companies have reviewed this request and have no objection to approval as requested. A satisfactory replat has been submitted. The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends the vacation of the public rights-of-way as requested. Recommendation It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating subject rights-of-way as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
