HomeMy WebLinkAboutContract 29288 AMENDMENT NO. 4 STATE OF TEXAS S CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO.a9e; M (No M&C Needed) COUNTY OF TARRANT $ WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and LOPEZGARCIA Group, (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 26419, (the Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-18321 on the 31st day of October, 2000, and subsequently amended by three previous amendments; and, WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the following project: Risinger Road - Southside II Water Transmission Main WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 4 to said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee; NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting. herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract: 1 . Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated September 24th, 2003 a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer total $7,718 .00 2 . Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not exceed the sum of $205,301 .75. 3. All other provisions of the Contract which are not expressly amended herein shall remain in full force and effect. EXECUTED on this the ja day of 2003, in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. LOPEZGARCIA GROUP,to provide additional design and survey services to the project as requested by the City. This amendment covers the cost of engineering work that is necessary for the following reasons: • Provision of Cathodic Protection. • Inclusion of bid alternates for Pipe Materials, allowing Ductile Iron, Bar-Wrapped Concrete Cylinder and Steel Pipe alternatives. Both of these requirements were added to the project by the Water Dept. LOPEZGARCIA GROUP has submitted a fee in the amount of$7,718.00 for the additional work as described above, thereby increasing the contract fee from $197,583.75 to $205,301.75. I believe this fee is fair and reasonable for the additional work to be done. It is recommended that the request be approved. Three previous amendments have been processed to this contract. No. 2968 LGGROUP Project No. 201006.00 Dear Mr. Chaubey: This letter is in response to the City of Fort Worth's request to provide the following services: ➢ Provide Cathodic Protection analysis and design. ➢ Provide bid alternatives and specifications for Ductile Iron, Bar-wrapped Concrete Cylinder and Steel pipe alternatives. At the request of the City of Fort Worth, LOPEZGARCIA GROUP solicited a cost Proposal from CORRPRO Companies, Inc. to provide the analysis and design of a Cathodic Protection system for all three (3) water pipe alternatives (See attachment - CORRPRO cost proposal). This cost proposal was found to be acceptable by both LOPEZGARCIA GROUP, and the City of Fort Worth. The proposed fee for the analysis, design, reproduction and distribution of the Cathodic Protection system is $ 7,183.00. Also, at the request of the City of Fort Worth, LOPEZGARCIA GROUP has provided in an addendum (Addendum No. 2)the provision for three (3) separate water pipe alternatives along with their associated specifications. See Attachments— Supplemental Fee Schedules for the individual cost breakdown for each of the two additional services included.
