AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS
IN THE GRANTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,261 00 SUBJECT TO RECEIPT OF
TWO GRANTS FROM THE TEXAS HISTORICAL COMMISSION FOR THE PURPOSE
OF PROVIDING FUNDING FOR THE TRAVEL AND TRAINING FOR HISTORIC AND
CULTURAL LANDMARKS COMMISSION, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE,
MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH TEXAS
SECTION 1
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2009-2010 in the
Budget of the City Manager there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Grants Fund in the amount of $2,261 00 subject to receipt of two grants from the Texas Historical
Commission for the purpose of providing funding for the travel and training for the Historic and Cultural
Landmarks Commission
SECTION 2.
That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void
for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way
impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining
provisions shall be and remain in full farce and effect.
SECTION 3
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No 18809 and all other ordinances and appropriations
amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict
with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior
ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed
SECTION 4
This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption

Authorize the Application for Acceptance of and Execution of Two Grants in an Amount Not to Exceed
$2,261 00 from the Texas Historical Commission for Travel and Training to be Used in Fiscal Year
2010 and Adopt Appropriation Ordinance (ALL COUNCIL DISTRICTS)
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council
1 Authorize the City Manager to apply for accept and execute two grants from the Texas Historical
Commission in an amount not to exceed $2,261 00 for the purpose of travel and training for the Historic
and Cultural Landmarks Commission (HCLC)
2. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Grants fund in the amount of $2,261 00 upon receipt of the grants
DISCUSSION
The Certified Local Government Program (CLG) is a preservation partnership between local state and
national governments focused on promoting historic preservation The CLG program provides technical
and financial assistance to state and federally approved local historic preservation programs The City of
Fort Worth has been a CLG program member since 1986 Through the CLG program the City received
two grants to provide training for the Historic and Cultural Landmarks Commission (HCLC) The grants will
cover eligible expenses for preservation training and travel within the State of Texas and requires a local
50 percent match The match will be taken from a special trust fund from the Texas Historical Commission
granted to the City of Fort Worth in a previous year
These grants will benefit All COUNCIL DISTRICTS
FISCAL INFORMATION /CERTIFICATION
The Financial Management Services Director certifies that upon approval of the above recommendations
receipts of the two grants and adoption of the attached appropriation ordinance funds will be available in
the current operating budget, as appropriated of the Grants Fund
