AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND EXTINGUISHING PORTIONS OF
NORTH JONES STREET, NORTH EAST 22ND STREET AND NORTH
GROVE STREET SITUATED IN THE M.G ELLIS ADDITION, AN
ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY,
TEXAS, AS RECORDED IN VOLUMES 63 AND 388-137, PAGES 19, 20
AND 98 OF PLAT RECORDS OF TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS,
PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND; THE
RETAINMENT OF EXISTING UTILITY EASEMENTS, REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS
SECTION 1.
THAT the following portions of the streets described below
1 A portion North Jones Street, a 60 foot wide public street, lying between N.E.
21st Street and N.E. 22nd Street as shown on the plat of the M.G Ellis
Addition, an addition to the City of Fort Worth, as recorded m Volume 63
Pages 19 and 20 of the Plat Records of Tarrant County Texas, containing
33 000 square feet or 0 7576 acres of land more or less,
2 A portion of N.E. 22nd Street, a 60 foot public street, lying between the
centerline of North Jones Street on the west and the west nght-of way line of
North Grove Street as shown on the plat of the M.G Ellis Addition, an
addition to the City of Fort Worth a recorded in Volume 63 Pages 19 and 20
of-the Plat Records of Tarrant County Texas, and containing 19,800 square
feet or 0 4545 acres of land more or less
3 A portion North Grove Street, a 60 foot wide public street, lying between N.E.
21st Street on the south and the north boundary of Block 171 of the M.G Ellis
Addition as shown on the plat of said M.G Ellis Addition, an addition to the
City of Fort Worth as recorded in Volume 63 Pages 19 and 20 of the Plat
Records of Tarrant County Texas, containing 42,465 square feet or 0.9749
acres of land more or less
4 A portion of N.E. 22nd Street, situated' between Block 172, M.G Ellis
Addition, an addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County Texas as
recorded in Volume 388-137 Page 98 of the Plat Records of Tarrant County,
Texas, and Block 177 M.G Ellis Addition, an addition to the City of Fort
Worth, Tarrant County Texas as recorded in Volume 63 Page 19 of the Plat
Records of Tarrant County Texas, and containing 19 800 square feet or
0 4545 acres of land more or less,
and as more specifically described in Exhibits A through `H" attached hereto and
incorporated herein, by reference be and the same are vacated and extinguished.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the lands m the above-described vacated alleys and streets are hereby
released and shall revert to the adjacent owner as provided bylaw
SECTION 3.
That all existing utility easements shall be retained by the City until such time all utilities
located in the easements are relocated at the owner's expense.
SECTION 4.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5.
That this ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council
1 Adopt an ordinance vacating a portion of North Jones Street from Northeast Twenty-Second Street to
Northeast Twenty-First Street, a portion of Northeast Twenty-Second Street from North Calhoun Street to
North Grove Street and a portion of North Grove Street from Northeast Twenty-First Street to its northern
terminus adjacent to blocks. 171 172 177 178 and 179 of the M G Ellis Addition and
2 Waive any and all purchase fee value of the vacated land in accordance with City Policy (M&C G-
15624)
DISCUSSION
Grant Engineering Inc. on behalf of TJB Enterprises, has requested the vacation of the above referenced
streets to replat the right-of-way with the adjoining property for the construction of a new industrial building
and additional parking The City Plan Commission recommended approval of these requests at its
meeting on December 18 2009 An acceptable replat (FS-009-094) has been received Any existing
utilities will be relocated- at the applicant's expense or retained within a designated easement along with an
appropriate plat note that no permanent structures may be constructed or placed thereon
The City of Fort Worth (City) originally obtained the above mentioned right-of-way through the platting
process The City does not own land under or adjacent to the above referenced streets Since no City
funds have been expended to purchase property or easement rights collection of the fair market value or
any portion thereof is recommended by staff to be waived
This land is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 2
