HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 1758 ORDINANCE NO AN ORDINANCE AAENDING SECTION I OF ORDINANCE NO. 1754 PRESCRIB- ING RATES TO BE CHARGED CONS Si iM OF WATER SUPPLIED BY THE FORT WORTH CITY WATERWORKS, AND, IN ADDITION THERETO, PROVIDING FOR RATES DURING THE MONTHS OF JUNE, JULY AND AUGUST OF THE YEAR 1933, SUCH RATES BEING APPLICABLE ONLY TO RESIDENTIAL CONSUMKRS USING WATER FOR RSSIDMIAL AND IRRIGATIONAL PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TELLS: SECTION I. The following rates per month shall be the rates charged for water to consumers within the corporate limits of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, until revised by the City Council of said City by subsequent ordinance, to wit: Cubic Feet Rate First 366.3/3 $ 0.75 Minimum Next 490733.1/3 0.18 per 100 Cu. Fte Next 400000 0.15 per 100 Cu. Ft• Next 43„333-1/3 0.12 per 100 Cu. Ft• Next 106000000 0.09 per 100 Cu. Ft. Next 492669666-2/3 0.06 per 100 Cu. Ft. The above rates shall be the rates charged for water furnished to all persons, firms and corporations, provided, however, that during the months of June, July and August of the year 1933 residential consumers using water for residential and irrigational purposes shall be charged the following rates per month or fraction thereof: Cubic Feet Rate First 333-1/3 0.75 Minimum Next All water consumed over and above 333-1/3 cubic feet, up to an amount which shall equal the total amount of water consumed by the same consumer during the same month of the year 1932, shall be at the rate of $ 0.18 per 100 Cu. Ft. Next- After the amount of water consumed for each of the months of June, July and August of 1932 has been reached, all additional water consumed up to the total number of gallons consumed during the same month and the corres- ponding period for the year 1932, the rate shall be 0.09 per 100 Cu. Ft. Next” For a13, water consumed over and above an amount equal to double the amount consumed for each of the months of June, July and August of 1932, as stated in the two preceding paragraphs, the rates shall be the same as those existing prior to the enactment of Ordinance No• 1754, and as provided in the first table above applicable to all consumers. Under the terms of this ordinance "residential consumers of water for residential and irrigational purposes" is meant those using water in or upon the premises of a residence or dwelling for the purpose of sprinkling lawns, shrubbery, flowers, gardens or any other improvements to the property exterior to the dwell- Ing, and does not include and shall not be applicable to hotels, tenements, com- mercial establishments, industries and apartment' houses having more than two separate apartments, or boarding houses having more than two rooms for occupancy by tenants• SECTIQN III. The water consumers who have no rating for the corresponding months of the year 1932, to wit,_ June, July and August, and to whom the rate fixed by this ordinance would be applicable, shall apply to the Superintendent of mater Works for a rating and the fixing of a bill so as to fix a rate, and the Superin- tendent of Water Works shall forthwith determine the rate applicable to such con- sumer and the premises involved, and upon such determination the rate when so fixed shall be final. aGTION IV. All charges and assessments due for water to residential consumers as herein defined shall be made and collected in conformity with other ordinances and the regulations pertaining to the Fort Worth City Waterworks, but in the event any person, firm or corporation fails or refuses to pay said charges under the rates provided for June, July and August more than ten (10) days after the report or monthly billing date as shown by said statement setting forth the amount due, the rate charged and paid upon by such person, firm or corporation shall be that rate provided for persons, firms and corporations other than residential consum- ers using water for residential and irrigational purposeso SECTION V* This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage* APPROVED AS TO FOEM AND LEGALITY: t' Attorney
