AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE FOLLOWING THOROUGH- FARES DESIGNATED AS LONEY STREET, IN GLENWOOD AD- DITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH; AN ALLEY TEN FEET IN WIDTH THROUGH BLOCK 422 GLENWOOD ADDITION TO THE. CITY OF FORT WORTH; AN UNNAMED STREET OR ALLEY SPACE THIRTY FEET MORE OR LESS IN WIDTH AS SHOWN BY THE RECORDED PLATS OF GLENWOOD ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH; AND THAT PART OF 'WHAT PURPORTS TO BE AN ALLEY BEGINNING AT LONEY STREET AND EXTENDING THROUGH BLOCK 43 OF GLENWOOD ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, BE VACATED, CLOSED AND ABANDONED; PROVIDING THAT THE FEE TO SAID PROPERTY SHALL REVERT TO THE ADJACENT OWNERS; AND PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT UPON THE PASSAGE THEREOF. WHEREAS, although the hereinafter described areas appear on a recorded plat as public thoroughfares, they have never been used by the public as public thoroughfares and they have never been accepted by the City of Fort Worth as public thoroughfares, but on the contrary they have always been used and claimed as private property by the adjacent owners; and, WHEREAS, it is to the best interest of the public that this apparent cloud to the title to this property be removed and that these thoroughfares be permanently closed and abandoned to public use; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1, That all of the following described lots, tracts and parcels of land be and the same are hereby vacated, closed and permanently abandoned as streets, alleys or public thoroughfares: That part of Loney Street, as shown by the recorded plat of Glenwood Addition to the City of Fort North, Texas, be- tween what is now known as East Broadway and the right of way of the Texas & Pacific Railway Company. An alley 10 feet in width, as shown by the recorded plat of Glenwood Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Texas, running from east to west through Block 42, Glenwood Ad- dition to the City of Fort Worth, Texas, between Luxton Street on the west and Loney Street on the east, some plats, however, showing this alley to extend only part of the way through Block 42. An unnamed street or alley space 30 feet more or less in width, as shown by the recorded plats of Glenwood Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Texas, between the right of way of the Texas & Pacific Railway Company and Lots 11 2, 3 and 4. Block 42, of said Glenwood Addition, including the north 30 feet off of Lot 3 in said Block . 42, reserved for street purposes in deed from R. Vickery to James L. Schoolfield, dated May 17, 1892, and recorded in Vol, 87, Page 479, of the Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, and including also 30 feet off of the north of Lot 4• in said block left for a street in deed from R. Vickery to T. W. XcMickle, dated September 13, 1892, and recorded in Vol. 80, Page 465, of the Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas. That part of what purports to be an alley, as shown by the recorded plat of Glenwood Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Texas, beginning at Loney Street and extend«.* ing eastward through Block 43 of said Glenwood Addition between Lots 1 and 2 of said block on the north and Lots 19 and 20 of said block on the south. SECTION 2, That the fee to all of the aforesaid lots, tracts and parcels of land are hereby released and will revert to the adjacent owners as provided by law. SECTION 3, That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and ef— fect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained. APPROVED AS TO FORM: City Attorney
