AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT A PORTION OF ANNIS
STREET, BEING A STRIP OF LAND 31.4 FEET WIDE BY
250 FEET LONG OFF THE r'UEST SIDE OF A14NIS STREET,
AS ORIGINALLY DEDICATED, SAID STRIP EXTENDING
FROM AVENUE "A" TO VICKERY BOULEVARD, BE VACATED,
CLOSED AND ABANDONED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION
OF THE FEE IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING THAT THIS OR-
DINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.
WHEREAS, in the year 1928, Annie Street was moved east some 31„4 feet
and the tract of land thus abandoned as a public street was conveyed to
Texas Woman's College by quitclaim deed dated November 14, 1928; and,
WHEREAS, since November 14, 1928, the hereinafter described tract of
land has not been used by the public as a street, but on the contrary it
has always been used as private property by Texas Woman's College, its suc-
cessors and assigns, being the owners of the adjacent property; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the best interest of the public that the hereinafter
described portion of Annis Street, as originally dedicated, be permanently
closed and abandoned to public use; NOW., THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the following described portion of Annis Street, as originally
dedicated, be and the same is hereby vacated, closed and permanently aban-
doned as a public street or thoroughfare:
A parcel of land out of the Jno. Ringer Survey to the City of
Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, which is a portion of Annis
Street, being a strip of land 31.4 feet wide by 250 feet long
off the west side of Annis Street, as originally dedicated,
said strip extending from Avenue "A" to Vickery Boulevard be-
ing more fully described as followb:
Beginning at a point in the west line of the Jno. Ringer Sur-.
vey approximately 21.1 feet north of the southwest corner of
said survey; thence north along the west line of said survey
a distance of 250 feet; thence east approximately 31.4 feet to
a point in the west line of Annis Street produced from the
south; thence south and parallel to the west line of the Jno.
Ringer Survey a distance of 250 feet; thence west approximate-
ly 31.4 feet to the place of beginning.

SECTION 2.
That the fee to the aforesaid land is hereby released and win revert
to the adjacent owners as provided by law.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 4,
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and ef—
fect from and after the date of its passage.
