AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE SOUTH TEN FEET OF LAFAYETTE AVENUE EXTENDING ONE HUNDREIM THIRTY- SIX FEET ALONG THE NORTH LOT LINES OF LOTS 15 THROUGH 20, BLOCK 19, CHAMBERLAIN ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, FIRST FILING, AN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS : SECTION 1. That the south ten (10) feet of Lafayette Avenue ex- tending one hundred thirty-six (136) feet along the north lot lines of Lots 15 through 20, Block 19, Chamberlain Arlington Heights, First Filing, an addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, be and the same is hereby closed, aban- doned and permanently vacated as a street or public thorough- fare of any kind or character whatever. SECTION 2 . That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee to the land in said street is hereby released and shall re- vert to the adjacent owner of the fee as provided by law. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage. IPele`+ NUMBER Vacation of Lafayette Avenue 9/10/69 PZ-353 4500 Block V-69-25 iof L_ GRAHAM BUCKMAN H:� Hulen House Apartments, owner of all adjoining property, has requested the City to vacate a strip of street right-of-way 10 feet in width and 136 feet in length along the north lot lines of Lots 15 through 20, Block 19 , Chamberlain Arlington Heights, 1st Filing, as shown on the attached map. This vacation will leave a 10 foot parkway between the curb and the new right-of-way line. This request is made so that the vacated right-of-way may be replatted with adjoining property for additional yard and parking usage. Subject right-of-way, acquired by dedication is not paved. City departments and private utility companies have reviewed this request and have no objections to this vacation, provided the applicant plats the vacated right-of- way with adjoining property. The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends adoption of an ordinance vacating the public right-of-way as requested, subject to replatting. The applicant has submitted a satisfactory replat. City Council approval of the recommendation of the City Plan Commission is requested.
