HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 3705-01-2009A Resolution NO. 3705-01-2009 DISBANDING THE SUSTAINABILITY AND GREEN BUILDING TASK FORCE AND CREATING AND APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT TASK FORCE WHEREAS on July 10, 2007, the City Council approved Resolution No. 3501 creating and appointing members to the Sustainability and Green Building Task Force; and WHEREAS the Sustainability and Green Building Task Force formulated concepts related to marketing and education, resource management, and planning and development in order to promote a sustainable Fort Worth; and WHEREAS it is desirable to prepare a Sustainability Action Plan building on those concepts that address development, services for residents and employees, and City government operations; and WHEREAS on Apri125, 200$, the City Council adopted a strategic goal to promote orderly and sustainable development, and it is thus desirable to first address the development component of the Sustainability Action Plan; and WHEREAS it is desirable to form a Sustainable Development Task Force to focus on development at the citywide, neighborhood and building levels, and to recommend an appropriate Sustainable Development Action Plan to the City Council; and WHEREAS it is desirable to have members on the Task Force representing public agencies, development professions, and business and neighborhood organizations; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, THAT: 1. The Sustainability and Green Building Task Force be disbanded; and 2. A Sustainable Development Task Force for the purpose of recommending an appropriate Sustainable Development Action Plan to the City Council be created; and 3. The persons listed below be appointed to the Sustainable Development Task Force for terms beginning on the date of adoption of this Resolution and expiring on September 30, 2009.
