SUBJECT
Adopt Resolution Amending the Fiscal Year 2008-2009 Budget of Public Improvement District No 8 Camp
Bowie by $86 971 00 from Prior Years Assessments
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached resolution amending Resolution No 3697 12
2008 to increase the Fiscal Year 2008-2009 budget for Public Improvement District No 8 Camp Bowie
by $86 971 00 from prior years assessments and clarifying that special assessments were not collected
on property located in the Camp Bowie Public Improvement District for the 2008 tax year
DISCUSSION
On December 16 2008 (M&C G-16380) the City Council adopted a resolution re-establishing Fort Worth
Public Improvement District (PID) No 8 Camp Bowie and approved the budget and service plan for
Fiscal Year 2008-2009 The City Council also authorized a contract with Camp Bowie District, Inc. to
provide management services for the PID during Fiscal Year 2008-2009
Typically PiD budgets are approved in September each year The approval of the PID No 8 budget was
delayed pending an internal audit. The budget for PID No 8 that was approved in December 2008 did not
include the full cost of implementing the services provided by the PID for the entire fiscal year Therefore
the budget has been revised to reflect all costs of operating the PID for the full fiscal year The amended
budget does not require any supplemental assessment on property located in the PID
In addition Resolution No 3697 12 2008 incorrectly stated that the City would not levy special
assessments on property located in the Camp Bowie PID for the 2009 tax year The resolution should
have stated that the assessments would not be collected for the 2008 tax year The attached resolution
corrects this error The City Council wi11 determine whether assessments should be collected for the 2009
tax year and if so the amount of those assessments during the annual PID benefit hearings to be
conducted later this year
PID No 8 is located in COUNCIL DISTRICTS 3 and 7
