A RESOLUTION REQUESTING AN INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION BY THE
UNITED STATES ATTORNEY'S OFFICE REGARDING THE RAINBOW LOUNGE
WHEREAS, on June 28 2009 the Police Department of the City of Fort Worth and
agents for the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission conducted an inspection for
compliance with alcohol laws at the Rainbow Lounge located at 651 South Jennings
Street and
WHEREAS during the inspection of Rainbow Lounge five people were arrested
for public intoxication and one person was hospitalized and
WHEREAS, the City s Police Department began an investigation into the actions of
the law enforcement officers during the inspection and
WHEREAS, due to conflicting reports regarding the inspection at the Rainbow
Lounge Mayor Mike Moncrief contacted the United States Attorney s Office and
WHEREAS the Mayor and City Council of the City of Fort Worth are requesting
that the United States Attorney s Office conduct an investigation of the incident to assure
that an independent determination of all the relevant facts occurs
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH,
In addition to the ongoing investigation by the City s Police Department the Mayor
and City Council of the City of Fort Worth request the United States Attorney s Office to
conduct a thorough investigation of the incident occurring on June 28 2009 at the
Rainbow Lounge located at 651 South Jennings Street Fort Worth, Texas to assure that an
independent determination of all the relevant facts involving the actions of the City s
Police Department and the agents for the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission is made
PASSED ANDTAPPROVED by the City Council of the City of Fort Worth,
