HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 3807-11-2009A Resolution NO 3807 11 2009 CREATING AND APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE MODERN STREETCAR TASK FORCE WHEREAS m June 2008 the City Council appointed a Modern Streetcar Study Committee to determine the desirability and feasibility of a modern streetcar system for Fort Worth, and WHEREAS in December 2008, the Modern Streetcar Study Committee presented recommended alignments, financing options, and implementation steps to the City Council, and WHEREAS the Regional Transportation Council has allocated $1 6 million m federal funds, and the City of Fort Worth and the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T) have each allocated $200 000 for planning and design of a modern streetcar system to complement the regional rail system, and WHEREAS it is desirable to form a Modern Streetcar Task Force to guide the planning and design effort and to recommend a starter alignment and financing plan to the City Council, The T Board of Directors, Tarrant County Commissioners Court, and other stakeholders, and WHEREAS it is desirable to have members on the Task Force representing public agencies, business and community organizations, and other stakeholders, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, THAT 1 A Modern Streetcar Task Force be created for the purpose of recommending an appropriate starter alignment and financing plan to the City Council, The T Board of Directors, Tarrant County Commissioners Court, and other stakeholders, and 2 The persons listed below be appointed to the Modern Streetcar Task Force for terms beginning on the date of adoption of this Resolution and expiring when the Task Force delivers its final recommendations to the City Council, The T Board of Directors, and the Tarrant County Commissioners Court.
