SUPPORTING A LOW INCOME HOUSING TAX CREDIT APPLICATION FOR WIND
RIVER APARTMENTS
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worths 2007 Comprehensive Plan is-supportive of the
preservation, improvement, and development of quality affordable housing; and,
WHEREAS, the Fort Worth Housing Authority ("FWHA ') has a goal to improve the quality of
housing for its residents and to increase the number of quality affordable housing units for low income
residents of the City of Fort Worth ("City") and,
WHEREAS, on August 9 2001 the City Council passed Resolution No 2760 to include
support for FWHA s Redevelopment Plan for the replacement of Ripley Arnold housing amts m the
City's Consolidated Plan mcludmg giving highest priority to Low Income Housing Tax Credit
("LIHTC") applications developed by FWHA, and,
WHEREAS, FWHA has been successful m locating mixed income and quality affordable
housing m various City neighborhoods gaming the support and trust of Crty citizens and neighborhoods,
and,
WHEREAS, FWHA has utilized various funding sources, mcludmg LIHTC from the Texas
Department of Housing and Community Development ("TDHCA '), to provide quality affordable
housing; and,
WHEREAS, FWHA through its affiliate, Trinity Quality Housing L.P has applied for a
LIHTC award from TDHCA to renovate the Wind River Apartments located at 8725 Calmont Ave, Fort
Worth, Texas 76116 and,
WHEREAS, Wind River Apartments will have 34 Ripley Arnold replacement units,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS THAT
The City of Fort Worth supports the application of the Fort Worth Housing
Authority and its affiliate Trinity Quality Housing, L P to the Texas Department of
Housing and Community Affairs for Low Income Housing Tax Credits for the purpose of
renovation of the Wind River Apartments
