AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS
IN THE SEWER CAPITAL FUND-LEGACY IN THE AMOUNT OF $151,154.00, FROM
AVAILABLE FUNDS, FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE SANITARY SEWER
REHABILITATION, CONTRACT 82 PROJECT; PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2016-2017 in the
Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Sewer Capital Fund-Legacy in the amount of$151,154.00, from available funds, for the purpose of funding
the Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation, Contract 82 Project.
SECTION 2.
That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void
for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way
impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining
provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 22394-09-2016 and all other ordinances and
appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in
direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of
said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4.
This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

Authorize Execution of Amendment No. 2 to City Secretary Contract No. 41723, an Engineering Agreement
with Baird, Hampton & Brown, Inc., in the Amount of$115,154.00, for Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation,
Contract 82 Near Meacham International Airport for a Revised Contract Amount of$336,976.60, Provide
for Project Management and Materials Testing and Adopt Appropriation Ordinance (COUNCIL DISTRICT
2)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing the estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation, Contract 82 Project in the Sewer Capital Fund-Legacy in the amount of
$151,154.00 from available funds; and
2. Authorize the execution of Amendment No. 2 to City Secretary Contract No. 41723 an Engineering
Agreement with Baird, Hampton & Brown, Inc., in the amount of$115,154.00 for Sanitary Sewer
Rehabilitation, Contract 82 project near Meacham International Airport for a revised contract amount of
$336,976.60 (City Project No. C01501).
DISCUSSION:
On April 5, 2011, Mayor and Council Communication (M&C C-24831), the City Council authorized an
Engineering Agreement with Baird, Hampton & Brown, Inc., in the amount of$197,608.00 for Sanitary
Sewer Rehabilitation, Contract 82. The agreement was subsequently revised by Amendment No. 1 in the
amount of$24,214.60 administratively authorized February 14, 2013.
Amendment No. 2 will provide for the following:
• Revisions to the drawings due to new construction at Meacham Airport which have impacted a project
sewer main.
• Revisions to the drawings to eliminate conflict with a proposed City storm drain project in the vicinity.
• Revisions to the details and specification to reflect the City's latest standards.
• Renewal of expired TXDOT and FAA permits.
• Construction phase services including additional shop drawing review and record drawing preparation.
In addition to the amendment amount, $36,000.00 is required for project management, and material
testing.

The overall project budget is $2,900,000.00. Design is expected to be completed by February 2017 and
Construction is anticipated to commence in July 2017 and be completed by May 2018. This project will
have no impact on the Water Department's operating budget.
M/WBE OFFICE: Baird, Hampton & Brown, Inc., is in compliance with the City's M/WBE Ordinance by
committing to an additional 16 percent on this Amendment No. 2. The City's M/WBE goal on this
Amendment No. 2 is 15 percent.
The project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 2, Mapsco 9A.
FISCAL INFORMATION /CERTIFICATION:
The Director of Finance certifies that upon approval of the above recommendations and adoption of the
attached appropriation ordinance, funds will be available in the current capital budget, as appropriated, of
the Sewer Capital Fund-Legacy. The Fiscal Year 2017 Water Operating Budget includes appropriations of
$31,636,073.00 for the purpose of providing Pay-As-You-Go funding for Sewer Capital Projects. After this
transfer for Fiscal Year 2017, the balance will be $25,444,328.00.
