Resolution l~ O 3515-08-2007 BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF 'THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, PROPOSING THE INCREASE OF TAX REVENUE FROM AD VALOREM TAX RATE FOR FISCAL YEAR 2007-08 AND SETTING PUBLIC HEARING DATES ON THE TAX RATE WHEREAS, in accordance with .Chapter X, Section 2 of the City Charter the proposed ad valorem tax levy ordinance for the Fiscal Year 2007-08 will be introduced at the City Council meeting to be held on August 14 2007 and, WHEREAS, per the provisions of Senate Bill No 18 passed by the Texas State Legislature and effective immediately upon passage, which amends Section 26 OS of the Tax Code the City Council will provide for and conduct two public hearings on the proposed tax rate and provide notice of these hearings and, WHEREAS at such hearings the Fort Worth City Council will afford adequate opportunity for proponents and opponents of the tax rate to present their views NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS 1 That an ad valorem tax rate of $0 8600 per $100 00 of taxable valuation of properties in the City of Fort Worth is being proposed for Fiscal Year 2007-08 which will provide more tax revenue than received in 2006-2007 2 That the City Council of the City of Fort Worth will hold two public hearings on a proposal to increase total revenue from properties on the tax roll in 2006 by 5 87 percent. 3 That the public hearings will be held on August 28 2007 at 10 00 a.m. and September 4 2007 at 7 00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers Fort Worth Municipal Building, 1000 Throckmorton Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76102 and an adequate opportunity will be afforded for proponents and opponents of the proposed tax rate to present their views 4 That the City Secretary shall publish notice of such hearings as provided in Section 26 06(a} as amended by Senate Bill 18 of the Tax Code of the State of Texas ~ ~:~ ~ _. . - -- RESOLUTION NO 3515-08-2007 Adopted this 14th day of August, 2007 APPROVED AS TO FORM AND LEGALITY ~~ David Yett, City tomey ~, ~~~.r ATTEST ~' , ~. ~_ ~~R ~1 h >, Marty`,Hendnx, C' y Secretary ~:~ r' ~R ~, APPROVED CITY CQUNCIL AUG 1 4 2007 1~w=~""~ CitySecretaryof the' City of Forf 1North,'~exas
