HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 3558-11-2007Resolution No 3558-11-2007 AlVJ[ENDING THE CITY OF FORT WORTH'S ANNEXATION PLAN TO ADD AN APPROXIMATELY 489 ACRE TRACT OF LAND LOCATED EAST OF OLD DENTON ROAD AND NORTH OF GOLDEN TRIANGLE BOULEVARD WHEREAS on December 14 1999 the City Council .approved Resolution No 2598 adopting an aninexation plan for the City of Fort Worth in accordance with Section 43 052 of the Local Government Code; WHEREAS Section 43 052(c) provides that a mumcipahty may amend its annexation plan to identify annexations that may occur beginning on the third anniversary of the date the plan is amended, WHEREAS the City Council approved Ordinance No 17413-02 2007 on February 20 2007 adopting the 2007 Comprehensive Plan and Five-Year Annexation Program, WHEREAS the area specifically described on the map attached as Exhibit A .and by the legal description attached as Exhibit `B" was identified m the Annexation Program for potential full purpose annexation m 2010 WHEREAS the area described m Exhibit A and Exhibit B contains 100 or more dwelling amts and thus is not subject to the annexation plan exemptions set out m Section 43 052(h) of the Texas Local Govenunent Code, WHEREAS the preliminary fiscal impact analysis of this proposed annexation is positive, WHEREAS property owners m the area have been notified of the potential full purpose annexation of this property and a public information meeting was held for property owners in the area at Trnmty Springs Middle School, Keller Independent School Dnstnct, on October 24 2007 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH. That the City's annexation plan, approved on December 14 1999 by the adoption of Resolution No 2598 ns hereby amended to include approximately 489 acres out of the F Cuella Survey A 266 the W McCowen Survey A 999• the J H. Eastman Survey A 501 the H. Davidson Survey A-437 and the J Billingsley Survey A 70 Tarrant County Texas, as shown on Exhibit A and described in Exhibit `B" RESOLUTION NO 3558-11 2007 Further that the area so described may be annexed for full purposes begnmm~g on the third anniversary of the date of thus plan amendment. District 2 City of Fort Worth, Texas Mayor and Council Communication COUNCIL ACTION Approved on 11/27/2007 Resolution No # 3558-11 2007 DATE 'Tuesday November 27 2007 LOG NAME 06AMENDAX07006 REFERENCE NO PZ 2761 SUBJECT Adopt Resolution Amending the City's Annexation Plan to Add Approximately 489 Acre Tract of Land Located East of Old Denton Road and North of Golden Triangle Road RECOMMENDATION It is recammended that the City Council approve the attached resolution amending the City's annexation plan to add approximately 489 acre tract of land or 0 747 square miles out of the F Cuella Survey A-266 the W McCowen Survey A-999' the J H Eastman Survey A-501 the H Davidson Survey A-437 and the J Billingsley Survey A-70' Tarrant County Texas to the plan DISCUSSION On December 14 1999 the City Council approved Resolution No 2598 adopting an annexation plan for the City of Fort Worth in accordance with Section 43 052 of the Texas Local Government Code State law allows a municipality to amend its annexation plan to identify annexations that may occur beginning on the third anniversary of the date the plan is amended On February 20 2007 (M8~C G-15615) the City Council adopted the 2007 Comprehensive Plan and the Five-Year Annexation Program The annexation program identifies areas that may be considered for full purpose annexation Two areas identified for potential annexation in 2010 must be included in the annexation plan since they contain 100 or more dwelling units.
