AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE NORTH-SOUTH ALLEY BETWEEN LOTS 1 AND 2, BLOCK E, WILLIAM JAMES AD- DITION, AND LOT 20, BLOCK G, ESSEX PLACE, BE ABANDONED, VACATED AND CLOSED, AND PROVIDING THAT KOCH STREET FROM THE EAST LINE OF LOT 19, ESSEX PLACE, EASTWARD TO THE WEST RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF SOUTH BEACH STREET BE ABANDONED, VACATED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE IN- TEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; RE- PEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the north-south alley between Lots 1 and 2, Block E, William James Addition, and Lot 20, Block G, Essex Place, be and the same is hereby vacated, closed and permanently aban- doned as an alley or public thoroughfare of any kind or char- acter whatever. SECTION 2. That Koch Street from the east line of Lot 19, Essex Place, eastward to the west right-of-way line of South Beach Street be and the same is hereby closed, abandoned and perma- nently vacated as a street or public thoroughfare of any kind or character whatever. SECTION 3. That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee to the land in said alley and street is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owner of the fee as provided by law, save and except that easements are reserved for any and all existing utilities. Adoloted July Z, 1773 SECTION 4. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 5. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage. James 7/2/73 PZ-565 i Of 1 �cecK Addition (V-72-41 and V-72-59) VN ReQD uMANColonial Southwest, Inc., has requested that the City vacate the north- WILM south alley bettteen Lots 1 & 2, Block E, William James Addition and 41- Lot 20, Block Gi Essex Place, a width of 15' and a length of approxi- mately 135' as shown on the attached map (V-72-41) , and to vacate Koch Street in the 2500 block a width of approximately 25' and a length of approximately 100' from the east line of Lot 19, Essex Place, eastward to the west right-of-way line of South Beach Street as shown on the attached map (V-72-59) . Subject rights-of-way, acquired by dedication, are unimproved. There are existing utility facilities located in subject rights-of-way. The reviewing City departments and private utility companies have reviewed this request and have no objections provided the Applicant replats and retains the vacated rights-of-way as easements for utilities. A satisfactory replat has been received by the City staff. The City Plan Commission has reviewed these requests and recommends adoption of an ordinance vacating the public rights-of-way as requested. Recommendation It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating subject rights- of-,way as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
