HomeMy WebLinkAboutContract 30871 CITY SECRETARv CONTRACT NO, ADDENDUM DALLAS FIELD DIVISION DFW AIRPORT TASK FORCE This is an Addendum to the Agreement effective October 1, 2002, between the United States Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) And the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. Except as modified by this Addendum, the October 1, 2002 Agreement between the DEA and the City of Fort Worth, Texas shall remain in full force and Effect. MODIFICATION #1: 1. During the period of assignment to the Dallas Division/DFW Airport Task Force, the CITY OF FORT WORTH, Texas will remain responsible for establishing the salary and benefits, including overtime, of the officer(s) assigned to the Task Force, and for making all payments due them. DEA will, subject to the availability of appropriated funds, reimburse the CITY OF FORT WORTH, Texas for overtime payments made by it to the officer(s), up to a sum equivalent to 25% of a GS-12 Step 1, federal law enforcement salary schedule (currently $58,665.00), $14,666.25 per year, per quarter. MODIFICATION #2: 1. Due to new forward funding of overtime for Task Force Officers, this Task Force Addendum shall be effective September 30, 2004 and run through September 30, 2005. Authorize the City Manager to execute addendums to the interlocal agreements with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA)/Multi-Agency and DEA Dallas/Fort Worth Airport Task Forces; and 2. Authorize the agreement to begin September 30, 2004, and expire September 30, 2005. DISCUSSION: The Fort Worth Police Department has been an active partner in the DEA/Multi-Agency Task Force, which includes agencies throughout the metropolex, and the DEA Dallas/Fort Worth Airport Task Force, since the creation of the task forces in 1985. The Department has nine officers and a sergeant assigned to the unit and is reimbursed for overtime costs up to $14,666.25 per officer, per year. In addition, all clerical costs associated with the program will be reimbursed to the City in an amount not to exceed $39,000. City Secretary Contract No. 28047 (DEA/Multi-Agency Task Force Agreement) and 28048 (DEA Dallas/Fort Worth Airport Task Force) will be modified to change the term of the agreements to FY2004-2005 and update the reimbursement amounts as appropriate. FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION: The Finance Director certifies that the Police Department will be responsible for the collection of revenues under these agreements.
